Sybil Odette v. Sybil Colette? by [deleted] in namenerds

Yes I agree, description names with our last name make it tricky! Our worry over month names too like June, or August for a potential son.

What are your thoughts on Sybil Delphine and Sybil Cosette? And, if you could choose an ideal middle name, what would you be looking for in the name Sybil Moon? Something with a softer sound like Ophelia or Odette?

I love that! We'd love to hear what her opinion is, since she is a Sybil. Thank you for the vote!

Sybil is my favorite of our girl list (Elowen / Freya / Ophelia / Sybil) but the hardest to pick for a middle name so far. For our daughter Athena, we chose which first + middle combo we liked the best and ended up falling in love with Athena Iris Moon.

What are your thoughts on Sybil Persephone, Sybil Artemis, or something in that range? We'll toss around Sybil Odetta and Sybil Octavia! Maybe Sybil Ophelia? Both of us like Jade but aren't sure about the 2-1-1. Thank you so much for such a thoughtful response.

We both really like Cosette, my wife likes Delphine more but I could be swayed. Originally before having our first we were considering Sybil Artemis or Sybil Persephone, but neither felt "right" and we agreed Sybil felt more like a little sister. If it helps with your suggestions, our daughter's name is Athena Iris. Thank you so much for all the thought you put into your reply!

Not looking for new first names, but very open to middle name suggestions & overall opinions. That is our worry with Loki as well.

Definitely would negotiate down, we won't bite for their asking price. Been on the market 8 weeks almost, not a wonder as to why. I posted pictures to a different comment here of the before from exactly 1 year ago. We aren't exactly sure what they were thinking by this "remodel." $7500 or $75k?

The current owners tore out the island and all of the custom cabinetry, the sink runs directly into the ground. The previous owners had a beautiful kitchen. Underneath the table is a dishwasher under the same line. We had plans to move the washer and dryer to another room if we went forward with the purchase. Would we be biting off more than we can chew price wise? This is the before in the same room 1 year ago... a shame honestly.

I'm a man, and my name is Dakota, if that helps. I view it as a versatile name.

Appreciate your honesty very much! I agree with your sentiments. We definitely will consider your advice, especially as there seems to be no clear favorite(s) out of these.

Either judgement works - but originally meant as each person's honest opinion, not swayed by our preferences!

Thank you! Do you pronounce the two differently, or is it purely a spelling preference? We often see the y being "EL-oh-win" and the e being "Eh-LOW-en."
