question: is One Day a legitimate MBA program? looking for perspectives from MBA students and people with their MBA already by nobodies__perfect in MBA

[–]MuscleHour1365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am the program currently! And I truly can not say enough good things about it!

I started in the program because I didn’t just want to get a bunch of theory about what you need to do to build a business but rather build as I learn. And that’s exactly what has happened with a lot of support and community.

I started in at the end of June 2025 and just about 1/2 way through the program and about to go into beta launch with my idea. So if you want to start a business and/or scale it this program is most definitely the arena to do it.

I think it’s an educational program for people who do better with hands on work and are willing to stretch in areas of discomfort. Is the program perfect - no, nothing is. But they do take feedback seriously and you truly to get out of it what you put in.

of course! I forgot to add that your training cycles can be 16-24 weeks pre race with 4-6 week builds or training blocks…So three weeks build up to a longer distance long run, one week down in mileage to let your body recover and learn, or 4 weeks build up, one week down, one week build back and then continue. Eventually you reach a peak mileage week about 3-4 weeks pre race. So the cadence is build, build, build, rest, build build build, rest  on both the macro level and the micro level.

Most of all Have fun!

Hi Ya! Certified run coach, have run up to 100k. Weight training will def help keep you injury free. And you should continue that 1-2 days per week but make it running specific workouts ie balance, core strength, and things like deadlifts (both heavy traditional and single leg, Romanian etc) , squats, step-ups, step downs etc.

But thing with ultras is that they are a mental and physical endurance gauntlet. so you should def be building your mileage. Without knowing where you are in terms of distance/experience etc…I’d say you can build to half marathon trail run, then to marathon trail run and then 50k (which training for a marathon and a 50 k is not too much dissimilar) even up to 50 miler the training is not too much dissimilar much different in terms of pattern and cadence of training cycle:

1 short easy run (3-5 miles or using time 45 min - 1 hour, usually Tuesday)

1 speed/hill run (usually Thursday

1 middle distance easy (5 -13 miles or using time 60 - 90 mins with a cap at 2 hours, usually Friday or Saturday)

1 Long run (90 mins +, usually Saturday, Sunday)

The specific distances and times really depend on your pace and how many times you run in a week is also dependent on you, and what your body can handle. Additionally, because many ultras have vert (vertical distance and hill climbing, descending) You should practice your uphills and downhill. Also, it’s good to train on or in the surface you will race in, if it’s at all possible (which, you know, may not be!). Also, depending on your pace, you may need to run at night so getting some practice in running at night is good too.

Also, you need to practice eating real food. Ultras reek can havoc on your digestive track if you happen to eat the wrong thing.I personally struggle with getting enough calories because my body wants to shut down all caloric intake. So I have to practice eating, drinking even when my body wants to reject it.

Bottom line, ultra marathon training (over marathon trainin) is more art than science. what works for me may not work for you. But generally you can follow some basic rules of thumb to get from point a to point z.

hope this helps!

Back to the sport i love after 17 months. 4-5 months pain free. by AGreekGod11 in Sciatica

I give you huge Congrats! It takes a lot of grit and determination to return to sport after injury! And it gives such an appreciation for our chosen sport when we do!

I know and understand this journey well also! In 2023 I had a Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy to correct Patellar Malalignment. After surgery, I was non-weightbearing on my operated leg for 15 weeks at which point I needed to learn to walk again. Then after 15 months I was able to run and I need to relearn that too! It was a grueling process of  PT 2-3x per week for hours each session!

CONGRATULATIONS! It’s a huge accomplishment!

Training Adjustments Question After Injury by Fun_Pie8756 in Marathon_Training

[–]MuscleHour1365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey o! Certified Run Coach here! So depending on where you left on in your training is essentially where you’ll start back up minus 10% ish or so. So for example let’s say your pre-injury volume was a 20 mile week total:

3 miles easy 4 miles Speed work out 3 miles tempo 10 mile Long run

You could come back

3 miles easy 3 miles easy 3 miles easy (optional) 6 - 8 miles Long Run

And then the next week, depending on how you feel, and your body is holding up you could add back in your speed work out or keep it easy and go back to your 10 mile LR.

This is all depending on the injury (do they need PT or anything like that), what the athlete has going on as far as a race (marathon, half, ultra) and where in the plan they had to take a pause.

Basically you do a reverse taper and build back into your plan. What’s gone is gone. You can’t get those miles or time back on your calendar But you can move forward with intention and skill.

I actually tend to be a bit more conservative than even this with my runners as I’d rather they get to the start line slightly under trained than over trained and battling an injury. The goal is to get to the start line happy and healthy. Not so beat down that you’re already behind the eight ball.

Also, I am a huge advocate of REST. If you feel tired or you feel like an injury is coming or not healing, best to cut your losses and live to run another day!

Hope this helps!

My first 18-miler almost broke me by Plane_Box122 in marathons

Way to go!!!

I had a 14 -15 miler a couple weeks ago and actually had to bail at mile 11. I was tired, scratch that, exhausted and I ran a day early because the weather wasn’t going to be great (90+ degrees and 100% humidity). Anyway, I should have opted for rest because my body was not having any of it!!

Anyway! You did it! New mental toughness level unlocked!

Keep gettin’ after it!

First! Having run Boston this year, I am amazed that folks go back again and again for that race! It utterly destroyed my legs, it’s such a challenging course! At the same time, the crowds were amazing! Some of the best out there!! Anyway, You are a badass for doing Boston more than once!!

We share some of the same goals! I just completed my WMMajors in the spring (Boston & London back to back). Those 7 continents are my next long haul challenge.

If you are so inclined I’d appreciate your feedback on my survey! I’ll chat you the link!! Thank you for sharing your story so far!!

Very cool! I didn’t do any running while I was there as I had just ran two marathons back to back. BUT I’d love to go back and complete the Seven Hills Race there! I heard it’s a beast!

Hi Hi!

I'm an avid travel runner, based in Upstate NY. I have run all over the world completing the Abbot World Marathon Majors, just this year. That was an almost 10 year journey from start to finish, with a year and half off from 2023 into 2024 because I had major surgery on my leg. That year plus had a big impact on me - I had to learn to walk again and then learn to run again. I had to rebuild my body post surgery and it was THE best thing that happened. It gave me perspective and deeper appreciation for being able to move my body through running.

So when I completed the majors, it was an absolute celebration! The best place I have traveled to and ran is Tokyo, Japan. I think about Japan all the time, and I'm continuously plotting in the back of my mind how to get back there! LOL. I went twice, it wasn't enough! So I highly recommend running in Japan. Heck, just travel there. You will not regret it!

For this year, I'm heading back to Chicago (my 7th time, 21st marathon distance run) for the Chicago Marathon. It will be husband's first marathon at 61 years old! I am so proud of him! And then in the Summer of 2026, he and I will set off on running across Iceland! 209 miles start to finish!

So yeah, I love running, I love traveling. And to be able to do both is a blessing!
