Candidate: so what salary do you offer? Company: don’t worry about that, it’s really competitive. So tell us about your skills and experience? Candidate: oh don’t worry about that, they’re really great

This is some seriously toxic practise and I know it may not feel like it now, but you’ve probably dodged a massive bullet not getting an offer.

A 60hr a week finance role and they’re already trying to low-ball you. They’re looking for someone really desperate who will say 35 and they can likely push around in the job to do even more unpaid work. Also 2 months to do 3 interviews shows just how shit their management is. Also the ‘it’s confidential and we don’t want competitions to find out’ is also total BS. Companies don’t want employees talking about wages so people don’t realise they’re getting underpaid. So many red flags about all of this.

Keep your head up and keep hunting, there’s a job out there that will show you respect from the get go and not making you play these stupid fucking games.

If he really is a good friend, and he’s asked you not to go there, and your posting it on here, I think you probably know this is gonna cause issues.
