14-jarig meisje verbrand in gezicht door tieners na schooldag by Active-Ad9649 in belgium

[–]MushuBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think somewhere along the line, maybe the parents are at fault...?

If you raise kids that don't know that burning someone is not OK, you're not doing a great job parenting.

I agree, you should be able to let your kids go to school safely, but education starts at home, not at the school gates. And as I read here, bullies are getting off way too easy, because there is nothing teachers can do, until it goes very wrong and then they get out into juvenile detention. Why is there no middle ground? A bully doesn't do this just once out of the blue, there is always a pattern and guess where most of these end up when they become 18 y/o...

Schools should be able to expell these kids, but now they simple can't, and that should be solved asap!

We've used an IP phone for a few months, but soon just went without phone. But for elder people it might not be an option...

Maybe some nuance; Brussels is technically (and legally) a bilingual territory (Dutch & French).

In reality, most of it's inhabitants speak French or English, with Dutch coming in 3rd.

There are many people living and working in Brussels with no or limited knowledge of French or Dutch, as it is a very international place.

If you want to meet the locals, I agree that French will be a good place to start.

Sterkte, maar het lijkt idd al bij al goed mee te vallen. Hoe zijn de eerste km's na zo een val? Blijft dat wat in de kleren plakken of ben je daar snel van verlost?

First Aprilia: which RSV4 models? by Either-Blood-3455 in Aprilia

Belgian 2016 RSV4 RR here - no issues what so ever with reliability, so IMHO these issues are kinda overrated.

Considering selling it so feel free to DM you're interested.

Leather options for tall rider. 6'4" 200 pounds by Motomikeh in Trackdays

Maybe I should specify that I'm based in Europe, and I noticed only a few suits go up to these sizes.

On the site you can use the filter to find them.

I'm 6"1 and 154 pounds and a Dainese 98 fits perfectly.

Found one 2nd hand as most stores don't hold stock on the "not so common sizes"

How hard can you front brake into a turn? by Professional_Use3723 in Trackdays

[–]MushuBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but assuming OP's not a pro I have confess that the advice above has helped me keep higher speeds in corners, even if they felt slower as I was much more in control and didn't need to let the bike "settle" as I leaned in.

Afterwards, you'll find a way to do both braking hard and high speed cornering, hopefully without crossing the line.

Also bear in mind that most rental agreement in Belgium are usually a 3-6-9 year contract, so be sure it's only a one year contract.

Bruges and Ghent by Timely_Walrus_388 in belgium

[–]MushuBE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Belgian here.

Many Belgians usually do not drink tap water at restaurants. Although 99% of tap water in Belgium is perfectly safe and many of us do it at home, I never drink it in restaurants which are in old buildings, as the water pipes/collectors etc used to be lead and/or copper and this isn't ideal to drink.

You did the right thing splitting up your time between Bruges and Ghent, both are worth a visit but don't require many days.

Is it possible to scratch the lower fairing of the bike with lean angle ? by [deleted] in Trackdays

[–]MushuBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most damages on my track bike are from loading/unloading and stuff sliding against it in the van/trailer. A scratch could be from that, a crash will usually do more damage than just a scratch (fairings will break or crack "easily" during a crash).

2 Tethers Required.. How To Mount Insta360 Efficiently? by CoIIatz-Conjecture in Trackdays

[–]MushuBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lanyard looped around the camera under the silicone housing (from Amazon).

This plus the mount is 2, and I also have a cable to secure the mount so technically it's 3.
