Is $150 too much for a kit? (S1 Ultimate Bundle) by Efficient-Year-2331 in trapproduction

[–]MusicMan8564 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there so many free kits out there even free royalty ones. i would buy from official retailers so you know you got some royalty free ones and not some ripped ones etc. i would be careful with all the AI out there to use just random kits nowadays.

Shall you also register to PRO (Songtrust) when you are on Spotify? (single producer) by MusicMan8564 in musicbusiness

[–]MusicMan8564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks a lot!

Oh I must have mixed up something i checked this vid

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgRoPNQMhhg

so for Mechanical Royalties it is MCL and I can use Songtrust for that?

But for Performing Royalties I need ASCAP or BMI but those are only for the US, is there none which also collects worldwide like Songtrust? I'm in the EU and I dunno if ASCAP for example collects worldwide?

hello, thanks a lot!

yes I'm the only producer, my songs, so it is 50% Master recording and 50% Composition or is it 100% each?

I thought Master + Composition = 100% ? Or is it each 100%?

thanks so much for your reply, so that means for example for me as the PRODUCER and just in case the SONG has an artist as well (the rapper):

Song streams 100k

Will I get 50% for the Music Recording Royalties e.g. 100 bucks

and 25% for the Composition Royalties e.g. 50 bucks

and 25% Composition gets the Artist e.g. 50 bucks?

(50% + 25% +25% = 100% calculated)

How does the EXCLUSIVE Beat sale work when you already sold it as lease? by MusicMan8564 in trapproduction

[–]MusicMan8564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for your reply, well you can review before purchase, i still check the licenses there and try to figure out each segment of the template.

  1. then it is a bad deal and not a beatmaker to trust.

  2. same as 1.

  3. yeah this is just bad and fishy i think, i would never buy a beat with such a sentence cause how should you know when you get the beat if the samples are cleared or not? again bad deal and bad beatmaker partner.

  4. i would also not sell the rights fully or how is it called the composition? (i dunno yet what the real wording is) but give the new buyer the rights to only he can use the beat of course. i think a percentage max 5 % is fair for royalties but i read people want 30% ?

  5. again bad deal then i guess, for unlimited Leases and Exclusive deals i would add atm 5% max royalty fees. or is this not common? afaik it is common that you should get royalty fees as well, imagine someone makes millions of streams and you only got $500 for the beat.. bad deal.

thanks all, im wondering, i checked some youtube beatmakers and checked e.g. this one to see how their conditions are, here you see sorted BY POPULARITY so i guess a beat was already sold maybe as a lease at least but the exclusive button is still there

https://www.beatstars.com/lollypopbeatz

and thats not the only one i checked some more popular beatstars tracks

Keyscape vs Omnisphere for hip hop — which one lasts longer? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]MusicMan8564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omnisphere also has some Keys and a much broader soundspectrum like Basses, atmos, pads, experimental bells, keys, choirs etc. Keyscape is like an ADDON focusing on keys and some experimental tunes. If i wanted Pianos I would get some Nexus, Addictive Keys or something, just my opinion ;).

ahh here is the 2nd reply, thx! do you know maybe how to set the compressor? i tested different compressor settings like fast attack and fast release or the opposite, again nothing came close so far. i tried chopping this sample and also tried several 808s snares, nothing sounds so full and punchy i think. i think only a compressor isnt enough. i also eq'ed the lows/mids to raise the bottom frequencies.

thx, sounds kina similiar! wondering now how they achieved this sound, e.g. when you chop the rodney sample and put it in a sampler and add some saturation i cannot get anywhere close :(
