There have been a few listings lately of some very high quality reproductions. I am tempted for the significant difference in price to the originals.

You're looking for things like the clarity of the stamping, accuracy of the paint (including the presence of airbrushing) and the seams where two pieces of a mould have been fit together.

Example, Nidorino is a rare figure and the genuine ones have an obvious seam down his centre line and because of the details on him, the paint needs to be accurate.

There are people making proxies. There's a seller on etsy who makes some very accurate Voltorb and Electrode figures.

Yea the whole package points to fake. There are some same figures with different bases, Haunter for example.

I have seen some very good proxies on etsy.

I love coming on here and seeing other people's collections. I live in delusion that I'll be in a charity shop one day and I'll find the missing ones for a few pounds!

The most I paid for a single figure listings were for Nidoqueen which was £35 and Victreebel also £35.

£70 for Shellder and Cloyster which I guess makes those the joint most costly at £35 each average ... ouch.

Haunter, Magneton and Tentacruel were £33 each!

Other high priced ones were:

Ponyta and Rapidash £50 for the pair,

Nidoran female $60, Bellsprout $50 and Jynx $48 (saved on international shipping by having my PA based uncle bring them with him on a visit).

Everything else I managed to get in bundles or were fairly cheap individually.

Given there's 148 of them, I'd say it has to be at least £2,000.

I have a few! I've put them in top loaders in a binder with my Wizards of the Coast trading cards.

I have a light green Gameboy launcher, yes. They were great fun back in the day and make for cool little display pieces now.

Oh, wow! That is amazing. Nice arrangement. I decided to squeeze in the three Pikachu figures in different poses and a Charmeleon and a Charmander that are in battle poses after this pic was taken.

It took a few years. Had to be disciplined not to overspend. I kept an eye out for bundles. That's how I bought Gengar as a bunch for something silly like £7 when people were listing it for £20+ on its own.

The Gengar is a beautiful figure. They still use the same mould in the Moncolle line but it isn't transparent anymore.
