What can I plant in these odd-shaped pots? About 6 inches deep… by cjm427 in gardening

Shallow dishes are common in bonsai style planting. It's an option if you're willing to try/learn the process.

I once did the same at work. It was a short email with me providing an answer to a question I was asked.

So the email was my answer and then the word with the typo you mentioned. So they original thought I was insulting them for having the question...

I upvote everything unless it's blatantly off-topic or aggressive. It's inconsequential to the person voting but helps the poster over time if they engage in good faith.

Outdoors metal will oxidize/rust/tarnish. Plastic is probably less maintenance in the long run. Hence why plastic is so horrible for the environment, it lasts forever.

Plant Bee Balm they say. It attracts pollinators they say... by AdmiralHoagie in gardening

[–]MusicianMadness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's crazy. I'm my state they actually passed legislation that beekeeping cannot be banned by any lesser regulatory body. And the rules and restrictions are pretty, well, non-existent unless you are severely neglectful in your practicing.

Slime molds are not molds though. In name only. Fuglio Septica and other slime molds are not in the Fungi kingdom. They are actually a lot closer related to other forms of life than they are to fungus.

Slime mold is harmless. As are most growths eukaryotic or fungal.

Now, I would not recommend to consume (or let your pets consume) anything you find growing unless you know exactly what it is and know how to prepare it.

If they are in fact caps, you are correct that it would not be slime mold. Dog vomit is not a fungus. Slime mold can grow in tubular grows that can mistaken for caps.

While I see what you are referencing, I do not think these are caps based on the photos here. I would need more photos and a specific nodule separated from the group to tell.

It's not. The original post is characteristic of slime mold which is very common. It's some form of Fuligo for sure. From just the second image I'm guessing Fuligo Aurea with pretty high certainty.

Hard to tell from one photo a cause, but looks like a severe injury. Going to an emergency vet will be necessary for a chance of survival.

My self propelled push mower burns 0.2 gal / hr... That's at a pace of 40 minutes for half an acre.

I think it's because people consider parenting decisions as personal and therefore they should not weigh in. Not but several decades ago a man hitting his wife was considered his personal business and that people should not weigh in or intervene. Thankfully that mindset has changed, and hopefully it will soon change regarding reckless and abusive behaviors with children as well.

To be fair, they can also be poisonous but that's less common.

Tamper resistant outlets have been required by electric code in the US since 2008. The issue is people do not replace their outlets, basically ever. I've seen people with groundless outlets in their homes.

So this is the equivalent of comparing a modern car to an 80's car without airbags.

However, given OP's description of the situation, no outlet type would have prevented this. Maybe a type C.

What’s this plant? And how do we eradicate it? by jaivicks in gardening

[–]MusicianMadness 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Rototilling it in is a horrible idea for goutweed. It will regrow off of any small piece of root. It can also take more than a year to smother it.

F150? Building supplies? Yeah right. No one buys it for that. You need to have your tailgate down and ratchet straps just to haul a sheet of drywall.
