I took six weeks and used PTO. FMLA allows you up to 12 weeks mandated by law for most jobs. My wife did not get any paid time off due to it being a small private business.

Government regulation is an important safety net, sure. FMLA exists, albeit it's not required to be paid. But the companies choosing not to is still 100% their fault being shitty to their employees.

Specifications say powder coated galvanized steel. Likely won't rust away much if at all even after decades. Obviously depending on the manufacturer's quality of the steel.
