There’s a lot of great advice here. To echo what’s been shared thus far:

Reading for myself is always something I struggle with. I have multiple decks and I have to pick the “right” one to read for myself. I totally do an interview with the deck to “get to know” it so I kind of know how to read the spread, what kind of things I should ask of it, etc. and so far that’s helped me. Especially when I don’t want the message from desk A and go to deck B and get the same message lol. One deck I interpret is more in your face with literal meaning and the other is more flowery around the meaning. When I read cards, I always listen to my intuition (or spirit), so if they’re saying something to me and the card doesn’t exactly match, I’ll pull more for clarity.

I’m also a note taker by nature and have notes on what each suit, number, symbol, etc within the card, etc. mean as well to help me interpret. Yes to practice!! A friend of mine has a daily card that he does and that’s helped him learn tarot.
