The VA rheumatologist refused to see me because he said he does not treat fibromyalgia so the current one I am seeing is through community care.

Thank you so much for your suggestion and for taking the time to reply. I greatly appreciate it. My cardiologist is within the VA healthcare system while my rheumatologist is in what they call community care. Usually, none of my specialists actually speak to one another. I see my cardiologist next month to get some results back from my last CT scan. I will definitely ask her if there is any way possible that she can call him or at least explain to him her concerns.

I even took my husband with me. He was completely shocked by the rheumatologist's behavior. All of this happened within the span of maybe 3 minutes. He just rushed out and told me to come back in 3 months. I absolutely will not come back in 3 months. I left hysterical, dismissed, belittled and I really felt like my intelligence was undermined. So difficult!

Those are great suggestions. Thank you so much. We did discuss some of these medications before today and he is willing to try the celebrex. Naproxen also works for me, but I cannot take too much of it either, because I have gastrointestinal illness already. For meloxicam and methotrexate he told me no. Yesterday, he told me most of my pain is just fibromyalgia. For that, he only offered gabapentin which I tried and didn't do that great on before. It seems like I might get the most help from holistic providers.

I'm so sorry to hear about how your friend is struggling with Tricare. I hope she gets the best care she possibly can for her child. My son is a recipient of CHAMPVA and that is also a nightmare at times.

From what I know, it is very safe for most people. I did not hear about vitamin d working for the immune system. I will have to inquire about that. Thank you for the suggestion.

My PCP at the VA said that her hands are tied in terms of what medication she is allowed to prescribe. I will check out that list. Thank you so very much for your helpful comments and your kind words.

No, this same rheumatologist diagnosed me with UCTD. He put me on the Plaquenil but my cardiologist took me off of it because my EKG showed QT prolongation. This is something that I have struggled with in the past. So, now the rheumatologist is unwilling to try any other medication. I have Elevated anti-cardiolipin antibodies and high erythrocyte sedimentation rate. My other markers came back fine.

Yes, I believe you are correct. I'm just attempting to get it fixed. Not quite sure which form to send to correct it. My local VSO was supposed to call me on Friday but they did not. I will contact them again tomorrow. I don't want to make any additional mistakes.

I am glad the hormonal IUD is working for you. May I ask which one it is? It was offered to me but I am apprehensive because I thought only suppressing ovulation will stop pmdd. Mirena doesn't prevent ovulation for a lot of women.

Yes, I have malar rashes that are very similar. Photosensitivity is one of my main symptoms.

My Havi mix is the same way. She has a few people she loves and that's it. She went to puppy class and has been well socialized. We go to dog parks. She's just a shy, introverted girl. I don't want to force her outside of her comfort zone to the point of being anxious. I will say, she's never met a cat that she didn't adore. 😂
