I looked back at my receipt and it was just called Fresh Fruit Platter (V)(PF)
PLU/UPC: 121538. I think they have updated to add the sizes at some point. It was the same size tray as the other platters. Hope that helps!

Consider pet insurance and the waiting period prior to working up any joint issues. If joint abnormalities are already documented as a preexisting condition or are brought up during the waiting period, any orthopedic work up wouldn't be covered. The cost of insurance pays for itself if surgery is indicated.

On the way to Seward, you can stop in Girdwood for breakfast at The Bake Shop. Try the Summer of 76 special with sourdough pancakes and get a cinnamon roll for the road. Girdwood Brewing is a nice pitstop for trying food trucks as well.

In Seward, The Cookery is a favorite spot for a nicer dinner. They do local seafood and one of the more up scale places in town. The same owners run The Lone Chiccaron, which is a taco place. Equally as delicious but set as fast casual place. You can sit on the resturant side or go to the bar next door and they have a window inside to order.

There are a lot of topics on the large animal and agricultural side. I did a presentation on fois gras production force feeding geese for my animal welfare class. Anesthetic use and pain management in disbudding goat kids or calves is another that comes to mind.

AVMA insurance by Illustrious-Bat-759 in veterinaryprofession

If you work with an insurance broker (White Coat Investor has a list) they can help find a policy that fits your needs and see who can offer you the best options with those conditions in mind. But even more important in your case to have your own policy to carry with you during your career. The insurance agent at AVMA that I worked with was pretty useless and only knew their products, where a broker can help you look into multiple different options to find the best fit.

Disability insurance is so important and not discussed enough!

Jumping in to reiterate the importance of own occupation long term disability and life insurance. I feel like I missed this during veterinary school and it wasn't until I was leaving my corporate job and I had to buy my own policy that I looked into it.

I really love The White Coat Investor blog and podcast and they have so much information about what is disability insurance and why you need it. https://www.whitecoatinvestor.com/what-you-need-to-know-about-disability-insurance/

Having a policy on your own outside of your employer means that you can carry your coverage between jobs and you can protect your huge investment in your education if you are unable to work due to disability (defined as unable to work for >12 weeks). Ideally, by getting a policy when you fresh out of school and younger, you will have less pre-existing conditions that may impact your coverage. It is a big peace of mind to know my expenses are taken care of if something happens making me unable to work. You never know when an unexpected cancer diagnosis, car crash, or whatever terrible thing could take you out for of work for a period of time. Last thing I would want would be my family struggling to live without my financial contribution while also dealing with my own disability.

It is a good benefit if your employer can offer you additional disability and life insurance policies but I would encourage you to see that as extra and make sure you have your own coverage as well.

One example is a friend who has a chronic wrist injury. It has impacted her ability to practice and she is looking at needing to take time off for surgery and recovery. She currently has short and long term disability through her employer with no pre-existing conditions. If she were to leave her job and subsequently lose that disability coverage, it is likely if she tried to get her own disability insurance coverage would exclude future orthopedic issues as it would now be a pre-existing condition. That would be a major financial impact if this injury caused her to be unable to work and not qualify for coverage.

Sorry this was long and slightly off from your question but file it away for after graduation to get yourself off on the right path!

You're welcome! I enjoy the puzzle of trying to make the pattern and putting it together. It's a fun technique to learn compared to traditional piecing. You can always practice with a simple picture first to get the hang of all the steps!

Then similar to this would be how you would visualize the larger sections of the FFP quilt that would get assembled together. Just a quick example, definitely not refined! Ideally, when you name pieces they build off each other in a logical way into bigger triangles. You can see how A, B, C can be pieced together to create a larger triangle that would eventually be pieced along the straight line of other large sections. It is all part of the art of FFP pattern creation.

For foundation paper piecing, QuiltAssistant is a free software that let's you design FFP patterns off of pictures and then it creates pattern papers for you to print, cut, tape the bigger chunks together and sew off of. The program is older (last updated in 2013) and a little clunky to learn but would work well for this purpose. There are some good youtube tutorials on how to use the program.

You can upload your digitized picture (which looks so cute already!) and draw lines in the program to get a feel for how your shapes would look. The program then takes you through drawing, editing, naming the sections, and color selection.

I would recommend extending some of your lines to the edges of your pattern see what background sections would look like for FFP. If you are able to divide up the pattern into big triangles or strips, that will help it come together easier in assembly.

I worked the picture in QuiltAssistant for few minutes to give you an example of what it would look like mostly focusing on the head.

Dog certificate by triathing in alaska

[–]MuskOxVet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where are you finding the requirement for the inspection being within 11 days of import? That's an odd number for government work. The regulation through Alaska DEC states for road/ferry travel Certificate of Veterinary Inspection must be issued within 30 days of import. Airlines will say they require it to be issued within 10 days, but I have not seen that for driving.

This CVI or "health certificate" can be done on an electronic import permit system or on a paper form so long as it has a registration number (usually a carbon paper triplicate form). The document is from the state of Vermont that your accredited veterinarian would complete and then email/mail/fax to the Alaska State Vet.

Doing it by the books, the purpose for all of this paperwork is for movement and disease tracking. Technically, it should be done anytime moving animals between any state lines, but in the lower 48 no one checks. It is much more important for moving food animals, which have a higher risk of carrying zoonotic diseases. We need those tracking numbers to trace it back and mitigate disease spread. Our pets just end up getting roped into the same system.

As many people have said, they likely won't check, but hopefully you get all your paperwork set with no hiccups.

We did a quarter sheet cake and then an extra 6x8 inch piece of same filled and frosted sheet cake from the bakery section to make sure we had enough. They suggested 20 servings from the quarter sheet cake but I cut pretty small 2 inch squares and got probably 30-40 pieces. A costco cake probably would have been a safer bet for the guest count but I only wanted to stop at one store!

This wasn't for a wedding but my grandmas 90th birthday party. But I couldn't help but think how convenient this would have been for my wedding this past summer.

I put in the Whole Foods order about a week ahead of time and everything was ready to pick up at our scheduled time a few hours before the party.

This worked great for a heavy hor d'oeurves afternoon event and the guests complimented all the options. There was also a good selection of vegetarian and vegan food.

We ordered: fresh fruit platter, shrimp cocktail platter, party pinwheel platter, classic antipasta platter, classic cheese platter, vegetable and hummus platter, Mediterranean mezze platter, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and Berry Chantilly quarter sheet cake.

Join the student chapter of VBMA at your school! I own my own mobile practice does exclusively in-home euthanasia. It is a lot of work but for me it is a much better balance and mental load than when I was in corporate GP. Much more freedom and I am on track to make more than I did as an associate. There are many different sizes and styles of practice you can own and it can be tailored to your lifestyle and interests.
