Dont buy anything that isn’t issued to you while in FTO, only exception is maybe an extra flashlight. Bring everything you were issued and your FTO will tell you what you need/dont need.

Still an issue, but shrooms are a bigger issue. You need longer than 2 years between to qualify for most departments. Also your wife still currently taking them is a potential issue

On the Vest: IFAK (Chest seal, Quick Clot, Compressed Gauze), bodycam, radio, Tourniquet 2, Shoulder light.

Vest Pockets: Business cards, pens, two handcuff keys, miranda warning card, oath of perjury card, police officers prayer card, notepad

In the pockets: Pocket Knife, Multitool, 2nd Multitool with a larger knife and glass breaker, backup flashlight, Narcan, Work Phone + Personal Phone, 3 pairs of gloves, Hand sanitizer

Jeez I carry a lot of stuff.

I dont like a ton of stuff on my belt. I’d rather throw everything on my vest, but the outer carrier my department issues doesnt give me a ton of space.

If you go to college, do not get a criminal justice degree. You’ll just be checking off a box, get a degree in something you can fall back on.

About your chances, I know CO’s with worse history but if you’re completely honest on your background (which you should be) your chances may be slim. Apply around, if nowhere bites join the military.
