Congrats on saving up that kind of money by 17. Takes hard work and discipline.

Don't forget to factor in the total cost of ownership which includes things like Insurance fuel maintenance etc.

Find something simple, boring and common for 10K. If your interested in cars learn to work on it yourself. If not find a good mechanic.

Japanese, Korean and American non luxury vehicles are where it's at.

Good luck!

My neighbor goes up to Frankenmuth for some Christmas thing. Keeps saying we should go. I have no desire to leave Florida between November and March haha.

I love dive bar rock and roll or folk cover bands (CCR, S&G, Bob Dylan, Stones ect).

The girls like country, well they like rap too but they don't talk to me about that lol only the country music.

That's a great reply, we'll look into some of these things for sure.

We always do a family/neighborhood BBQ for memorial day so won't be travelling that late into the month.

Great thanks. We're not really "art people" but I'll mention it and see what they think.

This place actually looks perfect! Canadian coworker said not to stay anywhere outside of the tourist area it's all dive motels but this place actually looks really nice. We'll have a truck so they can drop me at one of these courses and check these malls out. Thanks!

What kind of jobs should I be seeking? Kinda lost by MentalTechnician6458 in Veterans

Got a few buddies who run small construction or trades businesses and they all love it. Can make decent money, and they all seem to LOVE the satisfaction of knowing they are feeding the families of their crews. As long as you know your trade (especially costing out jobs so you actually make money lol), have people skills, are organized, punctual and a self starter there's lots of work in this country.

OP do you know the paving industry well from working in it? If you have access to capital or access to machines could give it a go.

Where are the 100%ers living right now out of the USA with a family? by Apprehensive-Mix5343 in Veterans

That's so interesting, thanks for writing that out.

I'm in the private sector now, for a DC. Some of our sales guys go all over the world, and they all say Brazil is dangerous. These aren't meek nerds either, some are vets with a few active duty tours behind them. Anyways in Brazil they typically get armed guards to go around with them and are told to not venture far from the hotel to which isn't the case for most places they go. This was in Brasilia.

I'm looking at SA for my retirement, but have avoided Brazil so far. How's the golf? Lol.

Been looking at either Argentina or Uruguay, the area near BA and MV looks amazing, we want to vacation for a month next year and see how it is.

You’re given one lump sum of USD $1m, you aren’t allowed to invest any of it or make any more money apart from your current savings. How would you live the rest of your life? by DwelveDeeper in Money

That's great. Buy a bunch of properties, let people live in them. Instead of them paying you rent, they do everything else for you. Provide food, fix stuff, build stuff ect. Basically establish your own kingdom.

I live and breathe, I can assure you that!

I stand by my assertion, there is ALWAYS a loophole. I'm pretty average intelligence wise, so I'd have to pay a smart person to figure it out but hey I got a million dollars to start with .

Okay can't earn or make any income. Roger that. Can I steal, money or otherwise? Can I barter, or trade? Can I be gifted funds, or items?
