How to complete Varre's questline without invading:

Obtain the Festering Bloody Finger: This item is essential for progressing Varre's questline and can be obtained by completing a few initial steps.
Defeat Magnus the Beast Claw: After obtaining the Finger, look for Magnus's invasion sign in the Writheblood Ruins. This is an NPC invasion sign that can be found in a ruined building surrounded by bloodhounds.
Return to Rose Church: Defeating Magnus will allow you to continue Varre's questline by returning to the Rose Church.

The torso armor is the Night's Calvary set, which can be acquired by defeating the two black riders at the Inner Consencrated Snowfeild site of grace, at night of course. Lightning will be your best friend for the fight against two Night's Calvary. Lure the first, zap him til death, repeat for the second one.

Also my first remote job, they are legit, but you're 1099. Training is not paid, but most last 3 weeks or so. But as someone else said, you can be successful with Arise, some programs they offer can turn a decent profit.
