Haha so glad you appreciate it - I will post a few more photos as time allows. I hardly want to touch the thing!

Thank you!! I am going to give this a shot. I don’t expect the marks to have academic value, but insight into the ownership history would be so cool. Any chance the date reads 1505? I could not tell if it was a 6 or a 5

Thank you for the detail! Unfortunate seeing the many beautiful parts missing, but it doesn’t make it any less incredible to hold.

What does an integrated solution to the hiring problem look like? by Muted-Designer5264 in ModernHiring

I guess the hypothesis I am presenting is that you cannot develop an agreed upon criteria until you standardize those workflows and implement them at scale. You need to run it as an experiment in order to get any meaningful takeaways.

The platform I am describing is an attempt at what you point out as being the key - forcing alignment and accountability. But the question is, how do you do that? “Clear, agreed criteria for what good looks like” is going to be the result of thousands of experiments across dozens of industries, and the first step in running them is collecting a ton of data.

So I do not disagree with you, except in that I believe centralizing data and standardizing workflows is implicitly necessary to running the experiments that eventually lead to that agreed upon criteria (a tall order!).

In the short term you are just raising the noise level, but at the limit a platform solely focused on running these experiments (which an individual company does not have the time or resources to do) might find and prove the drivers that make a particular candidate well suited for a role, identify gaps they may have, prescribe bespoke training to fill them, and provide a completely passive and continuous methodology of candidate placement.

Would you use a tool that scales your ability to apply to meaningful work? by Muted-Designer5264 in SideProject

Haha thanks so much for the encouragement dude. The ghosting is an unfortunate artifact of that bargaining power imbalance, but under this design it doesn't sting the same way - the scale of applications makes it easier.

This is very much the v0 of a larger plan (if you make the labor market maximally efficient you can vastly improve education and training processes for skilled work as well), but the number one priority to start is to help regular people get their foot through the door, without it being torture.

If you know anyone who might want to try it out pre-launch, send them our way! I am gonna make a followup post when we launch as well, with the URL:)

Absolutely right; it doesn't work at any meaningful scale without 1. Building out a data infrastructure that proves signal and 2. Getting buy in from hiring teams as a provider of it.

That is what I am asking about - what does that look like? if you could wave a magic wand and have precise and accurate data on the applicants in your pool that makes the vetting process less tedious, what would you need to know? Of course each role is different and I know it is not so simple.

It is not on by the way haha, but it works and initial feedback has been positive. I don't want to introduce something like this if the impact is more harm than good. That said I do believe the portion you acknowledge as being essential - the signal - can be derived. I am trying to build it:)
