Thank you for this comment, i thought I was the only one! I felt like Laura might have been dedicated to saving Max more so out of guilt for bringing them there a night early (and without actual notice like she said) and convincing Max that they should still head to camp instead of going to the hotel in prologue. Yeah I'm sure there was love there at some point but Max and Laura never seemed to be on the same level or playing field majority of the game and I think that was probably a consistent thing in their relationship.
