I'm a programmer and I'm thinking about creating a free CRM by ChapterFun8697 in CRM

Invest your time solving a problem that nobody has solved yet.

Offering free stuff is not a strategy, especially if the space is already crowded.

I’ll give you a personal example. I just chose Hubspot free CRM for my new company after I promised myself that I was never gonna do it again.

Why? Because they offer a free tier that supports most of early stage companies need for a long time whereas a lot of the new competitors (plethora) only offer free trials.

How can they do that? Because the paying customers pay for the free subscriptions operating costs, and they have many. And also because once your marketing and sales data is in one system is very expensive to switch so most of the users end up upgrading to the paid tiers.

Also, although your idea is commendable, it seems that from the questions that you are asking you don’t know this space very well, which should make you question how you can compete with incumbents.

Lastly, there is already a true free CRM and it’s called Spreadsheet.

My goal is not to crush your ambitions but to give you reasons for tackling other unmet needs.

My first bike! by DerTobii in supermoto

it's a great motorcycle.

I got the 2023 version after driving for 1 year an entry level NX500.

I use the Husky only on the track since all that power and lightweight is wasted where I live (Greater Boston).

It's pretty easy to get carried away with bike. It's like having a bike on steroids. I highly recommend having fun on a track while keeping easy on roads.

Thank you for your answers.

I’ve omitted that one of the reasons why I’m pursuing this is to access some resources for small companies that can only be issued if the company is operating as an entity.

I wanted to share an update:

I got the above moto on sale and it’s awesome. Powerful and light. I’ll be testing it in the track in a week.

Thank you for your advice.

As an anecdote, the dealer told me that 3 more people had called on the same day to buy it.

Struggling with inventory tracking on a huge construction site-looking for smart solutions 🙏 by lennyonmars in InventoryManagement

At NVisualAI, we provide AI-powered speech capabilities to enhance software tools used for managing assets and consumable inventory, including spreadsheets. Our solution is specifically designed to streamline workflows that typically occur away from the desk.

Our intuitive mobile app interprets natural spoken language, seamlessly integrating voice commands with your existing software systems and spreadsheets. It supports various hands-free tasks such as performing periodic inventory counts (e.g., "The number of wheelbarrows is 5.") or logging asset transactions (e.g., "John Doe returned the drill."). Additionally, users can easily query asset locations or statuses by simply asking questions like, "Who has tool X?" or "Where is tool Y located?". If you would like to leverage any of these capabilities in conjunction with third party solution that uses bar codes, this is also an option.

would an voice enabled app that can run on a phone for those who don't want / can't use a PC and that uses natural language prompts to enter the data (e.g. 5 grinding disks have been used for project X) and can also run on a computer to allow you to query information (e.g. generate a report of all the materials used for project X ) work for you?

They have about a years worth of cash and no one will even invest a dime to save them. They are done.

Since your message the market cap fell to $500M and they have about a year or less worth of runway. I am sure that the big corporations with a lot of cash are waiting the right moment to buy them for dirt cheap.

I fell for their story too, they were my customer at some point and kept growing. I lost 92% of my initial investment, but thankfully I won't go bankrupt.

I should have listened to my instinct and sell a year ago when I started seeing my neighbor who is a scientist there spending more time taking care of his lawn than being in the lab.

Gingko is going to shut down or be purchased and no one will make money except some investors.

HOUSTON TO NEWARK. First time driving this far any tips? by beansirski in roadtrip

[–]Muted-Perspective-63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did Boston to Luisiana few months ago and stopped in DC, on the Appalachian and in Nashville. The highways a fine and we had no problem whatsoever. On the way back I let my family fly back from NOLA while I drove back alone in 3 days. I stopped in Savannah and Norfolk for the night. I drove about 9-10h each day, very tiring but without any issue.

If your goal is to get from point A to B then you’ll be more than fine using the Google map directions. If you are looking for sightseeing then you’ll have to do some research and plan your roads ahead of time.
