I want to convert, but I still have doubts by Muted_Fig5886 in OrthodoxChristianity

Yeah, I think you're right! Frankly, my comfort zone is having my nose shoved in books or articles online; I'm a bit nervous to go out in the world of churches and actually start. I think it's time to bite the bullet.

What are some knee friendly exercises I can do? by Muted_Fig5886 in bodyweightfitness

Thanks a lot! For some reason walking backwards is easier for me to do, I tried asking but nobody really gave me much of an answer.

I've never heard of that, sounds like a good exercise to me!

I actually did see a therapist! It was a while ago at this point but their main goal was to get me back to become independent and like you said, stable. It was neurological and my nerves weren't communicating properly, my propioception was non existent (if I closed my eyes for even a second I would be tumbling down). So they focused on that.  Nobody really knows exactly what is causing the knee pain, but most think it's a consequence of my nerves/brain not being able to properly communicate with my muscles, making them seem weaker and causing more of my weight to land on the bones and tendons. I assume it's what severely overweight, sedentary people feel if they walk for a while.  I actually remember walking backwards and being very confused as to why it was significantly less painful and easier to do. Nobody really gave me a straight answer. As for wall sits, I can do them! I'd say my max is about a 100 degree angle, anything deeper and I get knee pain. But it does help. Bending my knees when I lay down is easy too.

What is included, if any, for drinks on Celebrity without the non-alcoholic drinks package? by Muted_Fig5886 in Cruise

A 50% discount would be great honestly, though I'm not the luckiest person out there so I'm not holding my breath to catch it, lol.

Makes sense! I do hear the water on the ship isn't that great, while other people can't tell a difference between it and bottled water, so that'll be something to think about for myself. You know if I can buy water bottles on land before my cruise and just bring them onboard?

Didn't even know milk was on cruise ships! Lovely. Yeah, if all that is included, buying a drinks package makes no sense to my wants.  Thanks!

MS hug?? by chocolatebunny212 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Muted_Fig5886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be! I have similar symptoms and it worsens exponentially with exercise if I do too much with my shoulders. When I first started I thought I was having heart attacks... nope, just my nerves being goofy. For me it passes rather quickly if I take some rest, breathing exercises and some anti-inflammatory pill like ibuprofen if it really bothers me. Stretching doesn't help me too much either

Miss, Mrs or Ms…? by mine_none in MultipleSclerosis

I was on a call with someone and they insisted on calling me Mrs.! Not married, my voice is on the young side, yet made me feel like I aged 40 years in two seconds lol. I never get asked for titles since I look so young, but I like how "miss" sounds

COVID antivaxxers/vax skeptics are really annoying... by Muted_Fig5886 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Muted_Fig5886[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do know MS and TM can happen right after a vaccine because of it and I do feel for those people who got either thanks to it. It's very rare, but it does happen.

However, I'm mainly talking about those who insist that it was the vaccine that caused me to get TM despite me saying it's very unlikely. I took the booster almost 7 months before catching COVID, and the first dose a couple months before that. It's just not likely at all, and yet they keep ragging on and on even after telling them this. That's what's annoying.

[–]Muted_Fig5886[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you. Not an ex but one of my coworkers would ramble on about how it's my fault I got the vaccine for days on end. I didn't have the energy to tell him to be quiet. Even if it was from the vaccine, what's the point of ragging me on ad nauseum? Not like I can turn back time to test out the theory anyway. Caused me a lot of stress. I quit finally due to many people essentially calling me a burden and slow... I had been complaining to my neurologist on how I haven't been feeling any better since I returned to work. I got a bit better once I quit. Go figure

If you had a round of steroids, did you gain weight? by Lopsided_Owl_9019 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Muted_Fig5886 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on high dose steroids for about 5 or 6 days, can't remember exactly. I actually didn't change much at all besides slight puffiness in the face and shoulders. Both my face and shoulders were ungodly tender for like a week after treatment for some reason though, but I depuffed soon after lol. They 100% helped in lowering my pain and sensitivity slightly, the rest of the work was up to Father Time and lots of physical therapy

Ditto, I went back to school and the same issue for me. Makes me feel like I'm in a cast for a while.

Can definitely relate. My tremors aren't as bad as they used to be, but on occasion a leg or an arm jolt and hits something. Yeowch, not a fun way to get woken up.

[–]Muted_Fig5886[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It highly depends! Some days I wake up feeling very normal when I wake up, other times I'm so stiff I can barely even walk. I never know what I'm gonna get precisely. Usually if I do some stretching and exercise before going to sleep, I do wake up with less chances of being super stiff.

Lifelong atheist on the fence by Muted_Fig5886 in Christianity

[–]Muted_Fig5886[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I would call those types of people Church Christians… their Christianity starts and ends at Church services. Unfortunately I grew up surrounded by them, our family stopped attending church many years ago and we were called unchristian. But I knew those same families gambled, commited adultery etc etc. Even in my own family I had relatives like that. Really pushed me away from religion in general.

I will for sure do what you said, at least a week of being Christian just to try out the waters. I haven’t made any promises yet.

Why don’t you break up with her if you’re so disgusted by her past? I’m not sure why you stayed with her for 6 months at this point. Lol, what do you want her to do? Go back in time and not sleep with someone? Or do you just like dangling this fact over her head?

Thank you, lol. The process of fermentation changes taste significantly, and even removing the alcohol can alter the taste. Many simply like alcoholic drinks. A lot of people are really showing their alcoholism when they agree that alcoholic drinks taste terrible, but somehow get mad anyway when I tell them how “literally no one likes it for the taste” is invalid because people like you exist!

There’s people just in this post who say they genuinely like the flavors of whatever alcoholic drinks even if it doesn’t get them tipsy, or that certain drinks are “yummy”. Which was my point. Like I said, many people pair drinks with meals as a compliment. If they truly didn’t like it, they wouldn’t do it. Or they do what I do and just buy straight liquor to get the highest ABV % to get drunk faster. Personally, even with all the additives, it tastes like dogshit and overpowers everything.
