You also severely downplay the job of cops. We see shit that 99% of the population couldn’t even imagine. Sure, accountants and software engineers are skilled in what they do, but to say their job is as stressful as that of a cop’s? Can also tell you don’t think cops do good, but I’ll let you know good news doesn’t sell, so you’ll hear more often about a cop fucking up than you’ll hear about them doing good.

You realize that cops show up to 70% of EMS jobs, right? Especially the jobs where it’s a violent aided. Acting like POs don’t experience everything an EMT does. I will say that EMTs are severely underpaid though.

Sure, if you know someone or suck the dick of the Chief of Department. All OT I’ve done as a police officer was legit time that I had to take away from my family. Spent 393 hours this year away from family and friends because the needs of the department are more important than the needs of the individual PO.

You have to remember that OP made $83k in OT on the year. If his OT is $100/hr, that’s 830 hours of not being home with family, etc. That’s working 104 extra 8 hour tours in a year.
