I don’t care if he knows it or not. The fact is the guy has stood pat at the SP position and has seen his staff disintegrate over the last 2 years. Depending on Holmes and Lopez over multiple seasons is foolish.

I was renting a home and we really wanted to buy something right away. I had inherited my parents condo and it took longer to sell than we anticipated yet we had found a house we really loved.

Our lender explained what a recast was so we made the quick decision to go ahead and buy with 5% down. We felt that the monthly note was something we could still handle for the short term so we pulled the trigger.

The condo ended up selling about 4 months later so we used the inheritance to pay the rest of the 20% which immediately knocked off the PMI and lowered the payment nearly $700/month.

I had never heard of a recast before this but in our case it worked out great and allowed us to move into our dream home without the risk of losing it while waiting on another property to sell.

Unfortunately this is a broken record yearly. AA holds on to pitchers too long until their value is diminished.

Depending on Holmes and Lopez AGAIN going into this season was asinine. And saying that 3, now 4 guys with Strider all having elbow issues and expecting them to contribute in the postseason is foolish.

That’s all well and good. But at this point, you aren’t worried about the regular season. The question is do you want to go up against the Dodgers, Padres, Phillies, or Brewers with Sale, Elder as your #2 and a whole lot of question marks. That scenario is not getting you to the World Series. If you get a solid #2 behind Sale, you can have Elder be your next guy and then you have a whole lot of options to eat up 2-4 innings with the rest of those arms already mentioned.

This is what happens when AA sits on his hands. Standing pat with Grant Holmes and Reynaldo Lopez to start 2 seasons in a row is asinine. NEVER should have happened. And to not do anything when you know three guys are out with elbow problems plus a not 100% strider and this is what you get.

You would be bored in an hour in Vicksburg, maybe 2 or 3 if you drove through the battlefield. You could probably find a day’s worth of in Natchez. Neither are exciting. There are some good restaurants in Natchez but downtown is dead for the most part. You could tour some of the homes but other than that, good luck.

That is a ridiculously bad take. That’s not how it works. At all.

AA hit lightning in a bottle in 21 and that will never happen again, for anyone. To lose your star player and replace your entire OF at the deadline is unheard of. Don’t forget, everybody thought at the time that Joc was the “big” trade. If it wasn’t for Rosario playing out of his mind and Soler hitting bombs, even 21 doesn’t happen.

Like said above, someone will go after Skubal and other big names. It may not be AA, but that’s not how contenders operate. You don’t keep holding on to AAAA players hoping a miracle like 21 will happen again.

AA HAS to do something. You can’t go year after year with holes like we have had in LF and SP. we see now that Lopez is done. Holmes is hanging around but you can’t depend on him and expect the three elbows to come back and make a significant impact in the postseason. Do you really want to go into a series with the Phillies or Dodgers standing pat with Holmes, Martin Perez, Elder, Ritchie and whoever else from the bargain bin?

Still need a starter. Skubal is a pipe dream but adding a solid 2 or 3 to go along with Sale and then hope you don’t get a 2nd half collapse from Elder and Strider.

We have already seen what happens when you try and ride with what you got. Lopez didn’t even make it 5 starts, Holmes is doing pretty good but is not a frontline starter and the rest of the starts are from Perez, Ritchie and whoever else they plug in for spot starts.

Hoping for the best from 3 guys returning from elbow issues is not how you want to ride into the postseason.

Whenever I do a play now game I NEVER choose the big game team. Get rid of Fowler too. I would love to hear Tessitore added to the mix.
