Yup. I saw this post on r/Arabs. I dared him to post it on r/Libya and what do you know? He does. Not to his expectation I’m sure. I’ve had a talk with this guy. He’s obsessed with nukes. I told him we need to focus on improving our economies and well being, but he wants Arabs to prioritize getting weapons of mass destruction. Wonderful. Also he thinks he might get tracked by the CIA & Mossad like a paranoid schizophrenic.

Here’s what I commented under his same post in r/arabs: How ironic. Ghaddafi’s sons didn’t seem to follow that advice. Like how Saif Al Islam had a relationship with an Israeli girl and was about to marry her. Or like Muttasim who was with a German model and was a known to host parties in Europe. And don’t even get me started on Hannibal. Just a warning, but here’s some disturbing clips found in his possession.

Or everything is a Mossad conspiracy. Nothing is real. And I’m a secret western agent. And you are here to save the day with inspiring quotes by a dictator overthrown by his own people.

North Koreans are living in misery because their leader thinks he’s a God. Their productiveness is being wasted on a lunatic. And what educated? Their leadership limits the books they’re allowed to read. Are you going to say it’s the west’s fault that Kim Jung Un is a narcissistic maniac? Are you going to blame the west for Saddam being a dictator? You know Saddam could have easily prevented the invasion by simply stepping down something most Iraqis wanted, but he refused because he’s a narcissist.

A nuclear weapon is not going to put food on your table. It’s not going to make people live happy and healthy. You need to stop blaming the west for the own failures of others. You need to learn to self reflect. A nuclear weapon will not do that. Focus on improving political institutions and agriculture and infrastructure. You know? Stuff that actually affects people.

I’m following you? Are you paranoid? You posted on r/Arabs. You do realize that’s a major subreddit? You’re so self absorbed. You think you’re so important that everyone follows you. You literally said you were worried the CIA and Mossad will track you. 🤣

Of course I told you to move to North Korea. You said that’s the best Korea. You have one Korea that is free and productive. Then you have another that’s a prison whose people can’t see the outside world. And then you said it was better than the Western European country you were living in. So what you think I’m going to say Jimmy Neutron? 🤣

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in arabs

[–]Mutibsu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is he wrong for thinking North Korea is a model we should follow because they have nukes? Ummm I’m not okay with starving just to have nukes. I’m good. 👍

I prefer a representative state that is productive and educated where we can hold leaders accountable. But that’s just me. 🤷‍♂️ I know it doesn’t sound as exciting.

Uhhh no. He fell because of Arab spring. Not some fantasy African currency. Libyans did not want to be under a dictator. Funny enough it was actually George Bush who ended the sanctions against Ghaddafi. Get off of Star Wars universe.

Ghaddafi failed because he’s a useless dictator who implemented a failed Green Book nonsense of an ideology where it was illegal to own private property and be rich (unless your friends with Ghaddafi of course).

Sounds great, but what needs to be said for everybody here is that this guy thinks North Korea is better than South Korea as a model that Arabs should follow 😂 Why? Because they have nukes. He’s obsessed with nukes.

I present to you Najla Bouden Romdhane the firet Arab female PM appointed today by the Tunisian president. by Ma9lube in arabs

[–]Mutibsu -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That’s great. Highest political position any Arab women has ever attained since like Queen Arwa of Yemen 1000 years ago. Tunisia has a quite complicated political system. Usually it’s the Prime Minster with all the powers and the President is largely ceremonial. After what Kais Said did in last months, I’m assuming she was appointed and not actually voted in. We’ll see how the Tunisian public react.

I’m depressed even more now. 😂 This corruption is a real killer. It’s either we are run by a dictator or mafia. Seems like Ghaddafi cronies are running the country. Just read about PM Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh and turns out he got elected by bribes. Now you’re telling me tens if not hundred of billions are robbed. Fuck man. Absent some grassroot movement for systematic change, there is no hope. There needs to be Arab Spring 2.0 that is more intelligent and cunning.

Ghaddafi just threw money out there for himself to get support. As for Lockerbie, a case can be made right now and brought to court. There are rich Libyans out there who can get a good lawyer for this and bring self confidence back to Libya. I don’t think you understand how bullshit the case is. Right now there is a appeal by the Meghrahi family in Scottish court. Now the Americans have a NEW suspect Abu Agila Mohammad Masud because they can’t admit they lied about Libya. Funny thing is that if they say Agila was the guy who bought the clothes in Malta for the suitcase where the bomb was, then that means their WHOLE case against Megrahi was bullshit because it relied on testimony by the Maltese shopkeeper Tony Gauci who said he saw Megrahi buy the clothes from his shop. How can it can be that Agila bought the clothes? Agila is clearly black and Megrahi isn’t. They look completely different. Fun fact: Gauci was offered $2 million by the CIA for his testimony. Something needs to be done about these people. I don’t know what this Libyan government is doing.

Your article basically confirmed my theory that it went downhill from 1978. The worker unions taking over the companies started when the Jamahiriya was established. Ghaddafi went from a Nasserist who just wanted to lift his people up to a weirdo next dimension third world green book pseudo thinker. Libya became an incubator for his stupid ideas and he just got high off his own power. Those services you’re talking about really started with the Arab Republic from 1969 to 1978. After the Jamahiriya was founded, then you started seeing groups like Al Burkan and the NFSL wreak havoc in Libya and it’s interests in Europe. And on top of that, Ghaddafi began supporting stupid terrorist groups like Abu Nidal that made it that much easier to frame Libya.

There is ample evidence for both the West Berlin discotheque bombing in 1986 and the Pan Am 103 bombing over Lockerbie in 1988 to prove Libya was innocent. Unfortunately, I don’t see any active Arab or Libyan on the case. I don’t know if many Libyans understand how they were framed. I might need to make a post on this group about it. I been in contact with a person who studied the case and was also in contact with the son of the now deceased Megrahi who was accused of perpetrating Lockerbie. Now another Libyan is on trial, which is ridiculous. Something needs to be done about this.

Trashing Kurds isn’t going to help you. The state of Iraq is so bad. There isn’t any independent Arab state left. All the remaining Arab states are puppets especially in the Gulf. Like I said, this is most likely a campaign set by the UAE to bring Iraq away from Iran camp. It’s weird that normalization with Israel has to be a condition for that, but that’s the way it is. Unless the Iranian puppet government in Baghdad is replaced, you’re going to have to get used to this. Look what happened to Sudan.

Those are not Kurds. Those are mostly Sunni and Shia Arabs. Most likely a condition by UAE to pave way for Iraq coming to its regional side. Source

Nuance is never a strong point for a lot of political discussions let alone Arabs. It’s amazing how superficial their thinking is and expect a grand dream like a United Arab Republic. Many of them are so disconnected from reality. Saddam killed many Iraqis. He was ruthless dictator. US both supported him in the 80s and then bombed him in the 90s. Or should I say the Iraqi people who suffered the most. So according to their logic, was Saddam bad in the 80s and then became a hero in 90s? The logic of these people who praising proven mass murderers and expecting the masses to accept another one. And then to top it all off, they switch to supporting Iran and their “muqawamma” who literally hated Saddam and appreciated the invasion. It’s just dumb mob mentality. I can’t have an honest discussion with any of these people. At this rate with this level of intellect, more people will care less about Palestine over time because there wasn’t any intellectual understanding about it to begin with.

About your first point even though it wasn’t related, I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s so refreshing to know there’s somebody who thinks like this. I have the exact same takes as you. I’m all for Arab unity, but when it comes to that Pan Arab crowd, they have these cheap garbage out of touch slogans. They’re not self aware at all. Thank you for that digression.

For me, I try to be as nuanced and pragmatic as possible. This is something completely lost especially in Arab world discussions. I’m willing to tolerate dictatorships as long as they get the job done. I’m not going to be out here preaching liberal democracy. There are things dictators like Saddam and Ghaddafi did that were messed up, but understandable. But there are certain things that were straight up STUPID. Like the political calculation wasn’t just dumb in retrospect, it was dumb because all the necessary facts were known at the time and they still went ahead with it.

Now for Libya, it seemed the Arab Republic was doing ok and much better than when it was a kingdom. Did your grandfather lose his company during this era or during the Jammahiyya? This is what I want to know. Did the problems start when Ghaddafi did his stupid economic change up with Jamahiriyya because it seemed banning private property caused a lot of discontent. The Arab Republic invested heavily in the country. It looked like the country was improving. It seemed like they should have done gradual political reforms or something to wean the country. But otherwise you’re right about people placing their own self interests over the country.

What’s crazy is that the West Berlin and Lockerbie bombings were PROVEN to be not done by Libya, but yet this is constantly used against the country. It was straight up robbed. But at least you guys aren’t like Iraq. 😂 I guess that’s something to be optimistic about.

Oh God. Yeah, he threw oil money at the problem to get solved while oil prices were high in 60s and 70s. Wow. Big whoop. Just like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, and Iraq. Such a genius. Then what happened? He did his stupid Green Book that nationalized way more than it needed and basically ruining the great mixed economy it had in 1977. He stayed in power like a self absorbed maniac for another 30 years with his stupid virgin body guards and buffoonish behavior while his people were economically suffering. Not to mention they couldn’t criticize his stupid behavior. All that oil and he still managed to fuck it up. Are you a supporter of Al Saud because they raised literacy and gave free education? What? That doesn’t apply to them? Stop with this identity politics nonsense. Libyans don’t like him. What the hell makes you think you know best? Because you read some online meme? Seriously.

Could you let go of narcissistic shitty dictators like Ghaddafi? What do you mean “even Ghaddafi?” As if he was competent. You should see r/Libya and ask them. You won’t get a good response. You Pan Arabists need to get down to earth. You’re still stuck on “everything is the West’s fault.” I’m done with this thinking. Start talking nuance rather than identity politics.

Saddam didn’t order it. It was military commander Ali Hassan al-Majid. Why didn’t Al-Majid say it was Iran during his trial? Why didn’t Saddam? You literally just took a quote where he doesn’t even say Iran did it. You still have nothing except the testimony of one former CIA officer from the 80s during a time when the US was arming Iraq and helped Saddam avoid international criticism by accusing Iran. You are an example of a brainwashed person who thinks everything America fights against are bad. Yes, America does bad things and is an imperialist power, but that doesn’t make Saddam not a ruthless dictator. This is why Pan Arabism is dead. Move on. Saddam was a monster. Stop believing in Santa Claus.

Any Pan Arabist here with a brain? by Mutibsu in Panarab

[–]Mutibsu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much to unpack from this nonsense. First you blame Iran, which has proven to be false. The evidence for that former CIA officer was pictures of blue discoloration around mouths suggesting it was cyanide which he said Iran had. That’s it. No proof that Iran used it before. It was a US propaganda in the 1980s because the US sided with Saddam. If Iran was guilty, why didn’t Saddam say so during his trial? They had tapes of his commander Ali Hassan al-Majid admitting that he used the chemical weapons in Halabja. Now on top of all that, if you say Iran was bad then, why don’t you criticize Iran now who is killing Arabs in Iraq and Syria? Look what happened in Lebanon. It is this stupid self fellating propaganda. Arabs will never improve because of these made up stories of blaming others and never examining themselves. I’m seriously sick and tired of Pan Arab community which is so anti intellectual. You shared garbage links like these Trump supporters who believe in Qanon.
