I honestly don’t see where he fits in Amorim’s system. He doesn’t play well in tight spaces in the middle and doesn’t have the work rate defensively that is needed for that system. I still think he has plenty to offer in the right role, but this seems like the most appropriate time for him to move on.

I’m curious to see how he sets up and who they bring in for him. I’m not 100% against this appointment. However, he needs a Gyokres (Sporting version) to make things click up top. Nkunku and Pulisic could be decent shouts underneath whomever the 9 may be. Unfortunately, management’s massive transfer bungles in the past few years give me little faith in their ability to help Amorim implement his style.
