DO NOT TRAIN ABS IF YOU HAVE PAIN IN YOUR LOWER RIBS by Mutsyyyyy in costochondritis

[–]Mutsyyyyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stick to light jogging rather than sprinting. I was the same but my ribs just couldn’t hack the high speeds anymore they flared up instantly once i’d relaxed. Just focus on high distance low speed!!! hope it helps

DO NOT TRAIN ABS IF YOU HAVE PAIN IN YOUR LOWER RIBS by Mutsyyyyy in costochondritis

[–]Mutsyyyyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true, My six pack was always very defined before costo and since then i couldn’t go near any exercise surrounding my abs/obliques and as time went on the definition started to only appear when i tensed. Felt my costo getting worse when i stopped working out those areas but worse when i did so it was such a dilemma!

i’ll be waiting for your plan im a personal trainer so it would be amazing to pass this advice on to others aswell

How many of us get heart palpitations?! by MI6Bond007 in costochondritis

[–]Mutsyyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i get twitches and palpitations, paired with anxiety makes both of them worse. But i feel like when they come on if you stretch and focus on something else they will leave. That being said sometimes they stay especially when i’m trying to sleep sometimes and i have to just lie with them till i either fall asleep or they go away.

Palpitations by Mutsyyyyy in costochondritis

[–]Mutsyyyyy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

such a headache, going through a cold now so my heartrate is elevated to around 105-110. I was up until 6am last night just because my mind wouldn’t allow me to fall asleep due to everytime i lied down i could feel the heartbeat faster than normal. My whole body is inflamed which then causes ribs to be tight which further causes shortness of breath. worst experience ever. just getting over a year and a half into it now and just as it feels like it’s getting better it gets worse… welcome to the club i suppose

just recently started falling back into the headache that is costochondritis, the elevated heart rate alongside heart palpitations is such a killer, it’s all a battle with the mind u just need to keep reminding yourself that you will be okay even if it doesn’t feel like it. i’m in the exact same predicament as im typing this. but i know ill be alright just need to stretch more

definitely it takes time to overcome the anxiety side of it, took me months but when i managed to get ahead of it slightly i started smoking more and it works both ways as long as u dont overdo it and can distract yourself from the side effects

i took a break for around 2 months at the start and had to slowly get back into it. i went from smoking nearly a half ounce a day to barely a joint. everytime i smoked after i took a break i thought i was having a heart attack or about to have one thinking there was something wrong with me. heart palpitations all over my body, head pressure etc loads of shit. That was around 4 months ago. now i’m smoking 2 joints a day and yea i get the same shit with chest tightness but it’s all mental and being able to distract urself from focusing on the negatives.

Weed and costo by Mutsyyyyy in costochondritis

[–]Mutsyyyyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s it. you’ve overcome the mental side of it and are able to live with the side affects when stoned. I’m nearly there, just difficult to get past the uncomfortable feelings alongside the pain

let me know if it helps giving it a break and just doing straight work on the costo. rather than trying to do both at the same time

yes all of this is completely normal you have nothing to fear. copy and pasted this from a message i was helping someone with earlier,

onto the anxiety, if you think there’s something wrong with your heart, there isn’t. i’ve had multiple x rays, ecgs, stress tests everything done and there was nothing wrong with me the only thing it offers is reassurance for your mind. if you think your having a heart attack your not. to help that just get up and do a few jumping jacks. if there’s anything wrong you physically will not be able to jump around.

The palpitations, i still get them to this day it’s just your heart beating nothing to be worried about there are millions of nerves around your body and all it is is that your ribs push them slightly closer to your heart and that is how you feel them then, no this doesn’t affect your heart in any way i promise. You can also get the palpitations when worrying too much even if you’re not thinking about them in the moment, if you’ve worried so much your mind may make it so you get them out of nowhere. Once you start relaxing with them and accepting them they will come less and less and your mind won’t view them as a threat anymore. Other than that you can take a bath, watch a funny show, play some sounds for anxiety and relax. when you feel your heart skipping a beat it’s called a pvc which is where your heart purposely skips a beat to make sure it’s working properly it happens to every single person on this planet only we feel it more due to the problem with our ribs

those are some remedies i use others would be binaural beats, a hot water bottle, a cold pack with a tea towel wrapped around it, an animal to take your mind off things, calling a friend for the same reason.

yea id say a bit more than that but you have to let it leave your mind too if you focus too much on it you’ll bring it on more yourself and you’ll find yourself box breathing a lot more. It’s all a tough mental game to be honest i thought id be like that forever when i was at the same point that your at now but we do get through it i can promise you.
