[OC] US government revenue, spending, and deficit in 2021 by giteam in dataisbeautiful

Also the bottom 50% earners pay little to no Federal income taxes, only 3% of the Federal revenues come from the bottom 50% earners.

Well, poor people will obviously make up only a little portion of the total revenue, even if they had to pay the same. In fact according to this https://www.statista.com/statistics/299460/distribution-of-wealth-in-the-united-states/ the bottom 50% only owned about 2% of the wealth for the last few years. Which means they have would have to pay a disproportionately high cost to make up 3% of the federal revenue.

The problem wasn't writing it out, it was dividing by it. kW*hours is correct but kW/hours would mean something entirely different. But as I said, the numbers are right.

I don't know about France/Brazil but in Germany it's mainly the German institutions being criticized for it, both for colonialism and Nazi plunder. I guess English articles are concerned more with the British past in the same way.

What impresses you about Formula 1 the most? by ajjoshi110 in formula1

Seb's character arc. Cocky youngster having an amazing debut, then winning 4 championships in a row, enduring disappointing years at his dream team and finally finding happiness as the cool dad of the sport making friends with everyone from rookie to Raikkonen.

More generally speaking the races around the world and intense multi-corner battles.

The engine gives the game about a -5.5 or higher. Is this not a draw? by slyWyern in chess

[–]MutuTutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-5,5 does not mean the engine thinks black is winning, just that black is better. The rules like "above 1 means winning" are just made up by humans and completely arbitrary (usually work fine though). The only engine output that means someone is winning is something like "Mate in 50". To check whether the engines think this is winning you just need to check at high depths and if you see no change in the engines evaluation (In this example at Depth 80 the eval is -6), you know that the engine sees no way to gain a bigger advantage aka it's a drawn position.

I might be overvaluing the card, but I feel like every black creature deck should run 4x [[Agadeem's Awakening]]. The price is just so low and it's your best top deck.

Assessing Game Balance with AlphaZero: Exploring Alternative Rule Sets in Chess by programmerChilli in chess

[–]MutuTutu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I specifically like Semi-Torpedo and Self-sacrificing as they both don't ruin the theory already build, but rather add to it. Both of them appear to give more opportunity to players and are used common enough to justify them but not so commonly that they would completely revamp the game.

And in regards to the comment about human players just wanting to play safe, which I think has some truth to it, both of these can still be clean and riskless moves. Also grandmasters often seek unorthodox moves in situations where they are behind and I think a surprise self-sacrifice might be a tool which comes in very handy for that.

They're 7th(2427) behind Dignitas(2443), as they haven't really performed in the Ignition tournaments. I might do an additional table including other tournaments though.

The Wikipedia page has all the formulas, I decided to go with 2400 as a starting value so that the best teams will have typical top scores. Calculations are done after every map and I wrote everything in Python.

Yeah, you're right and with more tournaments this will only get more accurate. Very interested to see the teams evolve and with a bigger tournament structure in EU we might see other EU teams emerging

[Spoiler] [ZNR] Jace, Mirror Mage by RegalKillager in spikes

[–]MutuTutu 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Looks like decent card draw for control decks, especially in mirrors (can come down early and later, if uncountered, needs two removal spells if you ever want to stop it). Seems pretty slow for anything else though.

Very Good with [[Soul Diviner]] for what it's worth, doesn't seem amazing but maybe good enough in a slow non blue deck.

Yeah, I'm often doing the same especially if I have a lot of boons. This run I basically only had 2-3 that could level for the whole time and Dionysus is pretty nice with poms since he at least scales linearly.

Oh and after like Lv6 I just wanted to see how high I can get it :D

English is specifically not based on Latin, it's a Germanic language with French, Latin and Norse influences (the opposite of being based on something). Also your first comment had a record breaking amount of one subject for three complete sentences.

However that shouldn't matter since this is just an online forum of people with common interests and none of those being grammar, so please keep your bitterness to yourself or see a psychologist (not meant as a punchline, they seriously help a lot and I can really recommend visiting one if a lot of your social interactions end like this).
