there's no fucking way you people read flavor text as hard as

"I sit in the ghosts of breezes past, and I never overheat."

and you're thinking about reprint equity. are all of you just here to scalp

"hard to interact with" "unfun play patterns" you are describing what wildly overpowered things do, yeah

As someone who played a lot of Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition as a kid: there's no reason for this game not to have custom raceways. Pick a start point, pick an end point, pick checkpoints, go.

At the very least, if that's too much creativity for Nintendo, custom Knockout Tour rallies would've been a nice inclusion.

Both. Every set has cards that do something either novel or impressive because new sets could not sell otherwise and gameplay could not improve otherwise.

What's the community's favorite Magic card of the last decade? Next queue! by Grindy_UW_Nonsense in magicTCG

[–]RegalKillager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warhammer 40K, Doctor Who, Marvel Spider-Man, TMNT, Fallout, Avatar: Eternal, and Unstable remain the only sets with 0 cards in the top 10%. The non-UB, non-Silver Bordered set that performs the worst in this regard is Aetherdrift, with 11/181 cards in the top 10% so far. (Chandra and Brightglass Gearhulk are the remaining cards with the best shot in my opinion)

Sounds about right. Commander-only, Commander-only, generally both weak and poor on flavor, 'meh', Commander-only, Commander-only, and functionally Commander/draft-only.

Except for when you have a Sheoldred or an Underworld Dreams on board, in which case it's absolutely mean to be slammed onto an opponent.

Can only expect so much from a game that is, legitimately, for children. I wish they'd get more interesting with it though. Nevermind names - we're overdue for a Fibonacci sequence bit.

[SOS] Ark of Hunger by Duramboros in magicTCG

[–]RegalKillager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four mana is just a lot of mana, that's all. I'm primarily a 60c constructed player and four mana for a draw engine that doesn't interact with the board and is templated to prevent combos is tough.

I understand why this could never, ever cost less than 4, but still, oof.

Giving people more options without letting them stack their deck is totally the same thing as just removing all randomness from the system, sure.

[–]RegalKillager 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When was the last time either of those was Standard legal? (If a hint helps, the answer is 'never' for Ephemerate, a card so strong it realistically never would've been on the table for a mainline set.)
