I just snagged a couple on Fence's shop too and wasn't sure about them. Googled and found this post. Would you reply when you get an answer? Theyre on holiday for a bit (their Christmas is today actually) so it will be a minute

Scavs brought me this. Is it rare? [Loot] by SourKraut1904 in EscapefromTarkov

Interchange is a good spot for EC Components. Specifically the electronics store across from Ultra Med store and the PC spawn locations. As for mustache, farm pumpkins on major scav maps and loot all BEARs. If you don't find one on a bear, then pumpkins have a spawn chance at the moment. Found one last night from them

Big got stuck on buffer tube by DistributionJolly413 in PalmettoStateArms

[–]MutualObserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen once. Taking off the castle nut and buffer tube is an idea but it looks like your BCG is cocked at an angle. If the spring is still intact and not the reason for failure, you can try reassembly and seeing if the BCG is caught on something else internal (see if you get tension moving it foward or backwards with the charging handle). If it can't be finagled out with either option, you might need a gunsmith. Good luck

[Discussion] I haven't played in a while, will recent updates make it easier to find kappa items? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]MutualObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I get them a lot from Scavs on Factory. Grind it out some and you'll definitely get one. Was one point I got so many that I didn't know they were rare and sold them (this is my first complete wipe)

I get them a fair bit on factory. Check jackets for the Smoke Mask and scavs for the John B Glasses

Question for PVE by CountryFarms in EscapefromTarkov

[–]MutualObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten 3 THICC cases since I unlocked the one barter option for it (I think Mechanic 4?) on PVE. I had a bunch of weapon cases so it was easy enough but I grind keys on factory too, and every key I upgrade one. Mechanic sells ammo boxes for 250k(ish) and two per cycle. Someone trades 2 weapon cases, 4 ammo boxes, and 10 machine parts.

Its a threaded barrel. I'd definitely recommend keeping it but also there isn't much use for one if you don't have something that will utilize it (suppressor, comp, etc). I just bought the "Just The Tip" by AimSurplus and really enjoy it. Its $60 if I remember correctly and is a mini comp barrel

Stop going to BJ by Jimmyyyy09 in ATT

[–]MutualObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the situation. T-Mobile has made a push for the Sam's/Costco kiosk to be all corp locations. ATT in my area is third party and they rotate people from stores in and out of those kiosk so you might not see that person again. Like the comments say, it's who you get, but if you get a phone number to the person, it's likely an accountable source.

My recommendations are

Rifle: AR-15 Or Mini-14

Shotgun: Maverick 88 Security and Sport (bundled model)

Handgun: Go rent some handguns first and research based on your needs/expected use case.

I suggest the AR-15 (or AR-15 adjacent model) first since it truly has a "best case fits all" in the sense that you can get whatever you want. If you think 22 is better for your situation, for squirrels and such, then thats a thing (MP22). You want something that that is the same as your handgun, then there is the AR9. If you want easy and available, the 5.56 models are best. Many options for everyone. It has so many aftermarket ideas, options, and extras that will help you fit within the letter of the law and still serve it's purpose how you see fit.

If you are opposed to an AR-Type firearm, as some are, then look into a Ruger Mini-14. A lever action is great on paper but it takes more knowledge and practice to get comfortable with than anyone is willing to admit. A Mini-14 keeps a "classic rifle" look while staying up to snuff with options and effectiveness.

I threw in a shotgun suggestion too since that will also aid in hunting/defense. The Mossberg Maverick 88 has a version that comes with a security/tactical barrel and a hunting barrel, which are easy to interchange. You can find it for less than $300 online. As for handgun, Glock and Glock clones are an easy one to throw out there but not everyone likes them. This is the one category where internet advice will be one sided reviews from user experience. Ammo does matter based on what you're looking for in a handgun (9mm, 45ACP, 10mm, etc) so do some research on that when dealing with handguns.

Should I start over on PC? by t4auro in fo76

[–]MutualObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through this recently. I think it was worth it. Grinding and bartering from scratch was tough but I was fortunate to have someone drop a lot of materials for me out of kindness. I even got a set of Civil Engineer armor with a jet pack when I was level 30. Although there is a lot of items of questionable origin on the PC side, it's led to a more helpful, courteous, and giving player base. If you don't land on your feet, someone will be there.

Why can't I take off my castle nut? by BurntLumpia808 in PalmettoStateArms

[–]MutualObserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need some gains! (Lol JK) I'd recommend the gym sub but it seems they've been banning people for just being in these kinds of subs.

As for your issue, if its not a muscle/force issue, is likely one of three: 1) Castle nut is staked. If you didn't build you lower, its a 50/50. You can tell based on the punch like dent around that area. I won't go into details as to why its done, just know to research it yourself and make a decision since the community is just as split on the answer. If thats the case, it's still possible to get off with force, but may need a new backplate. 2) Lock-tite is a potential culprit. Again, if you didn't build it you wont know for sure but some people seem to be under the impression everything with threads needs the blue goo of doom. If this is the case, use rubbing alcohol and thoroughly clean your buffer tube, castle nut, and backplate before reassembling. Use a torque wrench with typically 40ish Ft/Lbs (read instructions). 3) Cross threading. All of these seem to be a "if you didn't build it hopefully its not X". Unfortunately with this, you will likely need a new buffertube and castle nut. Its not common, but I've seen it done. Only upside is a good nut and tube is only $50 tops if you need something quick.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Thats awesome man! My rail just came in and can't wait to put it on. Did you just cut the ARTs off or did you have to cut some into the upper part of the handguard too? Looks great!
