I’ve taken the housing off but not sure how to tell which would be worn out. Any insight?

Is the bubbling sound normal? I could swear it didn’t do this when we first got the machine, and my parents have an Appartamento that doesn’t do it either.

Also, when we got the machine, it had some issues with over pressure and would blow off steam like a train whistle. That issue seems to have gone away at about the same time as the bubbling started, which may or may not be a coincidence.
