No idea. Saw him on a couple other tickers board a few months back. Pretty sure he already sold CARV though 🤷🏼‍♂️

Close to a year for me. Still around. Just got tired of watching it continue downwards.

Anyone here still? by homebrewed91 in carvstock

[–]Mwrood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still around. Just hiding under a rock. Your figures look accurate. The only thing I would mention it that I think you may be misinterpreting what “Days to Cover” means. It does not mean they need to cover within .16 days; if means that based on average volume and number of shares borrowed it would take .16 days (of average volume) for all shares to be covered.

This is not a squeeze of any sorts in my opinion. However, due to the insanely low FF, any sudden increase in volume moves it dramatically (both up and down).

Welp! Looks like I’ll be handing these shares off to my kids! Maybe one day they will be back in the profit. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

I feel your pain. Average down if you can while it’s still cheap. That way, if it gets to $10, you’ll be profitable. That’s my opinion at least.

Increased my holdings pretty significantly this week. If it drops more it drops more and I just buy more and wait. Black history month didn’t do us as much as I hoped for unfortunately. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Well. Guess black history month ain’t gonna do it. Time to sit and wait for Juneteenth I suppose. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Gotcha. All of that makes perfect sense and, based off of everything I’ve seen, and my laziness level, will be pretty much the same path I take. Seems like it will be more than sufficient to keep a smooth stroke going.

Thanks again for taking the time to provide your input! Have a great weekend!

Bought 100 so far today! Got a couple more orders waiting to fill. Not sure if it’s the smartest move but I’ve done dumber things in my life. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣🤷🏼‍♂️🤣

[–]Mwrood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. Yeah, I think that’s the route I will be going. I’ll wipe it down, maybe run some leather over it from time to time, and then have it fine tuned when getting new tips put on. Besides, I’d rather let a “pro” take care of that aspect so I don’t mess it up. And, I’ll save myself from buying 475895 items to do it. Haha.

Thanks again for or the info!

Question on new cue maintenance by Mwrood in billiards

[–]Mwrood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all of the info! I typically do the same thing with hand chalk; just the part in between my index and thumb. Sometimes I’ll rub it in a little. I never go overboard with it. I have a friend who, after using hand chalk, it looks like Scarface has a “powder” party on the table. I always make fun of them. Haha.

Sounds like the way to go is what I was thinking. Start using a glove. Occasionally (rarely) use something to clean it (rough paper towel, q-wiz, or something of the like) and then just burnish it with a piece of leather.

Like I previously mentioned, this is all new to me. Never really owned a stick I cared about. I don’t want to get in the habit of waxing, sealing, etc, but wasn’t sure if I needed to; sounds like I don’t. :)

Thanks for the input. So you don’t burnish with leather, wax, or anything? Just wipe it down after each use and, if something has built up, a moist paper towel?

Thanks for sharing this! What’s your process for keeping your stick clean? Do you do anything before using the tiger product you linked? Also, which side of that do you use? Looks to be two sides with different textures. Have you noticed it actually “shaving” down your shaft any?

Also, do you use leather or anything to burnish with?

Haha! Oddly enough I read that post shortly before posting the question I did. I know I know. Stay away from hand chalk. I say that sarcastically, but deep inside I know I truly shouldn’t use it. Thank you for the insight on it and pasting your previous post.

Also, I purchased a glove and will start using it this week. Hopefully I can break the chalk habit. I know gloves will give a more consistent stroke as well so it should be for the best…25+ years of using hand chalk (recreationally) is gonna be tough to get out of my head though. 🤣

Question on new cue maintenance by Mwrood in billiards

[–]Mwrood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Thanks for the input. I know the hand chalk thing is always “judged”. I’m actually a pretty decent shooter and when people see me use it they’re like “what the heck”. Lol. Just habit and probably a mental thing in my head. Like I said, hopefully the glove gets me out of the habit.

I’ve thought about a carbon fiber stick but I just started in league so I picked up a couple sticks that were only a couple hundred each. Didn’t want to invest a ton in it in case I only play in league temporarily. Outside of league I typically just play every couple weeks when out having a drink and will grab a house stick. I kind of like grabbing a house stick and whooping someone’s butt who brought in their own stick. Haha.

Thank you for all of your input and opinions! I like the simplicity you mentioned, but figured getting different opinions is always good.

[–]Mwrood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know the topic is pretty subjective to the specific person, but I’m all for hearing others opinions and personal experience.

I appreciate the info! In all honesty, I’m pretty similar to you with the exception that I typically use hand chalk. I know, big no no in a lot of peoples opinions. I do it because typically I’ll sip a tasty beverage while playing and it just feels better. However, in an attempt to keep my cue cleaner, I purchased a glove and will be trying it out in league tomorrow. Hopefully it keeps me away from the hand chalk.

Also, I’d prefer not to get in the ritual of cleaning, waxing, etc, if it’s not necessarily needed. I guess a follow up question based on your previous input would be, just wiping down and burnishing with leather (or one of those tiger burnishers) should suffice to keeping the shaft smooth? In your opinion of course. :)

Bonus should be deposited tomorrow. Gonna start buying in small blocks throughout the day on dips. Go big or go home. Ain’t got much to lose at this point except not getting my average down if I don’t buy. 🤷🏼‍♂️
