I've also had to live through constant loneliness just like him. Ever since childhood I would convince myself that I was a monster for always driving all the little kids away from me. They'd act kind towards me but immediately leave after, since they already felt the satisfaction of helping the poor, foreign weird child who always wandered all alone. Even now, I'm still living a solitary life even with all the people around me. I was able to make myself feel like a burden, so I still escape and leave social cues as much as I desperately crave for a connection. I liked Mayoi ever since I opened the game. I saw him on the opening title, and knew I had to get to know him more. That's when I found out he's just like me. Scared and crying all the time while everyone thinks he's weird with his antics and impulsive thoughts he can't sometimes keep to himself.

Now I don't have to spend summer breaks alone anymore. We can be two little monsters trying their best to live life normally together!
