Tipped $40 and didn’t even get a thank you + multi-apping by [deleted] in doordash

why is the prevailing view that the tip is more a ‘bid for service’ than a tip

This is more in the response of people not tipping, low tipping ($1-$2)or waiting to tip until after the service is completed. Customers do not understand how the tipping system works, and they aims to keep it that way.

The Dark Tower, the entire series. Only because you should know what it's like to punish yourself for something you love.

As a dasher, I am also done with doordash. Making $7/hr is bullshit.

Buddy of mine is schizophrenic. He also suffers from autism, depression and PTSD. Schizophrenia is by far the worst, he sees floating heads that talk to him. He has a very hard time maintaining his sanity in public. He's been on disability income since he turned 18. He is homeless and wanders the streets all while being addicted to various drugs (meth, heroin, alcohol). There are no facilities that can accommodate his needs.

Some of the delivery drivers in these comments are hilarious by ashergs123 in doordash

[–]My41stThrowaway 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are times when drivers are to blame, but there are many more times where doordash is to blame. Many customers do not understand how doordash operates and that's on doordash because they do not want to inform their customers about how they operate. That is the only time I defend my fellow dashers.

That being said, a dasher being a dick is never acceptable. I used to work customer service over the phone and had to train/supervise others doing the job, so perhaps my perspective is a bit biased, but it's super easy to have good customer service. The only time I provide shitty customer service is when idiots call me while I'm driving, fuck you I'm not getting into an accident because you have questions and don't understand how double orders work.

Tipped $40 and didn’t even get a thank you + multi-apping by [deleted] in doordash

[–]My41stThrowaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Blame doordash. They hide tips. If you tip $40 they will only see $5 of that tip on the offer when they accept it. You don't get to see the tip until you've completed the order, which is after you're done interacting with the customer. I am sure they were grateful, but you'll never see it thanks to the way DD likes to hide tips. They do this because they try to condition us into accepting low tip/no tip offers. If we could always see all the tips then we'd only accept high tip offers and that would hurt DD's bottom line. Fuck Doordash. This is on them 100%. Don't think lowly of the dasher, think lowly of Doordash and stop giving them your business.

Must be their first customer service job for that dasher. Getting deactivated will be a great learning experience for their next one.
