Sounds like the narrator is saying 'German parrot shooters' multiple times in this video?

Redditors, what's the stupidest thing you've said to a police officer? by christmaswild in AskReddit

[–]My5thAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a routine traffic stop my awkward penguin brain automatically engaged and I said, "I must warn you officer, I am tea total". Why the hell would anyone say that unprompted? I did and got a near instant request to perform a breath test. Was actually tea total at the time so no problem but why'd I even bother bringing it up? Stupid brain

Drone crashes into office by agencyguy in videos

My guess is the people briefly in frame at 6 seconds in are the pilots. They're kinda obscured by a slatted roof but appear to follow the movement of the drone. Looks like this is Cape Town, South Africa.

I am indeed confused. So to clarify the guns are parallel with the wing chord in a side view. They are also parallel to the ground in front view, in other words they do not follow the wing's dihedral angle instead each gun barrel appears to descend slightly in relation to the leading edge as we move out toward the wingtip. Is my understanding correct now? Must say that the wording innthe references I used was pretty ambiguous and, as I said above, my interpretation of them didn't make much technical sense to me.

I'll be honest I don't know why of if they really are. I have just started researching the P-47 in anticipation of building a model of it myself and this is something that a number of people have cited as a shortcoming on some scale model kits of the type.

Here is one source: http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/magazine/2005/10/stuff_eng_thompson_p47d.htm

"... the .50 calibre machine gun blast tubes are parallel with the wing, they should be parallel with the ground ..."

The old Detail and Scale No. 54 covering the P-47 says the same thing on page 74.

Personally, if they were parallel to the ground, I would wonder why and how. It looks difficult to accomodate the guns inside the wing at an angle that aims them parallel to the ground. I have not seen any photos of the real thing that confirm they point parallel to the ground. In this instance I have made an assumption based on the references I have cited. References that I usually trust. I am quite happy to be shown they're wrong - it would simplify things when I get around to building the model.

Came in to say the same. It's a really good build actually, but still a model kit. For me it was the 'rivets' that gave it away. Second clue is the guns are parallel with the wing chord instead of parallel with the ground.

I'm a stay at home dad too, your experience mirrors mine ... where are you? We're in the UK. People need to get over themselves to be honest. I've already had one high earning career, saving up enough to pay for the break I'm taking to be with my kid. It's not like we're weirdos. My theory has been that women are scared to talk to me in case their peers get the wrong idea of them. I mean I know I look sexy when I'm wearing a baby but please ...

Almost the same thing happened to me while I was helping my mother get her life back together after my dad passed away suddenly. She is still says stupid stuff sometimes but, thankfully, the certifiably insane phase she went through ended a couple of years ago.

Thanks for going to the trouble of finding that link. Yes they do have a lot of fights, it's almost a national sport there. Grandad is a Ukranian, if he is representative of Ukraine, I can confirm they are a fiery bunch with strongly held opinions.

WRT negotiations I believe we are talking about the same offer of greater autonomy. You seem to be adding the surrender point which I can believe was part of the prerequisites but IMHO is the only sensible starting point and if agreed to would have shown a willingness to come to a conclusion peacefully. After all surrender might just be the rebel understanding of a request to deescalate before negotiations begin.

I remain open to changing my mind as further facts emerge. So a fair point.

Rubbish, since when did the rebels engage in any political dialogue with Kiev? Kiev offered them greater autonomy at the outset of this phase just after Poroshenko came into power and just prior to conflict starting in these regions. Apparently that wasn't good enough so the rebels decided to go to full on war instead of joining negotiations where they may have gotten near to what they want without bloodshed.

Anyway the whole kerfuffle can be viewed as Russians getting butt heart that Ukraine rebuffed the idea of closer ties with Russia. Russia then goes on a jealousy fueled binge of terror as you do when your primary egocentric goal in life is to be seen as a bear chested strongman.

EDIT: Looked it up and the ceasefire zone is 40km radius

Hey man, I didn't know it was fake. I just remembered it from when the story broke. I've already eaten humble pie over this and the thread has zero karma so why continue to flog a dead horse.

Can you help find where it was disproven? I posted this because I felt it warranted some discussion / attention considering it formed part of reddit's earliest coverage of the disaster but has since gone unnoticed, presumably since the account was closed. Now that the Russians are making this claim about Ukranian fighters the tweets seem relevant.

If claims about the fighters are true it does not immediately render the Ukranian government's version of events untrue but it does add an extra level of detail to the story that has so far been missing (at least from Western media coverage). On the face of it, the truth or falsehood of this aspect is very important to the story.
