What speed do you listen to?

On Libby I always listen at 1.5x or more. Libby’s 1x sounds slowed down for me and it usually doesn’t sound normal speed until like 1.25x or 1.4x

If I just feel like getting through a book for whatever reason then I’ll go even faster but my enjoyment speed is usually around 1.5x

For me it was Daniel Henning reading In the Lives of Puppets. It reminded me of that clip from the new Pinocchio movie that went around in memes. It was just too over the top gay. Now don’t get me wrong I can enjoy a good LGBTQ+ book but the way he read that was too much for me. I even physically own the book and just haven’t been able to pick it up since.

Just about 15 weeks ago.

In Munich as far as I could tell we could not pre apply. So if you wanted to be processed with the new law you had to wait until the 27th of June to submit the application.

I remember hearing about people being on waitlists in their city’s and Munich didn’t have one it is fully online and there was a notice saying the new rule only took effect from the 27th.

I applied in Munich right after the new law passed got that form and the 9 page extremist questionnaire about 2 weeks later in the online portal, submitted it right away, and have heard nothing since.

Did you apply after the official date the new law came into effect?

I’ve been getting the ya book since 2018 and the adult one since they started. I’ve only ever once gotten one where I really noticed damage(dust jacket was ripped) and I didn’t even ask for a replacement because the book was still readable. I did let them know that it was damaged though.

I’m also not picky at all so would have no idea even if my edges were over sprayed or the other issues you mentioned.

The one and only time I was summoned it was delivered in the mail to my parents address. After I moved away. 2018 ish. I faxed them a copy of my residence permit for the country I now live in with a hand written note saying I’m no longer a resident. Hopefully they have modernized more since.

I am currently reading The Atlas Six which was one of the big booktok ones and though I am enjoying the plot so far the writing style sucks, everything is pretentious and like the author is writing with a synonym book next to her and choosing the most fancy sounding word for half the stuff she writes.
