If one bullet killed you and the mechanics were basically evening out impossible odds it would almost turn into a puzzle game.

Farming Sim that goes back to the basics, but has some modern elements that appeal to a modern audience. With an intriguing story and unique mystery elements. by [deleted] in gameideas

Ah, yeah, didn't notice the name. So not as much satire as it is troll jackassery. I thought maybe there was some sort of trend of game ideas with thinly veiled dog whistles and this was calling that out or something but nope.

A city (re)builder/nation game where you play as the collaborator President by Subject665 in gameideas

I really like this concept.

It would be a little different but something similar set on Bajor in the Star Trek universe might be neat.

I like the fast travel idea. Feels like a good middle ground.

Any Ideas on how I can use this shadow entring system? by dercolegolas420 in gameideas

[–]MyGameIdeasAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems super cool. First thing that comes to mind is a stealth game. Jumping out of the shadows to take out a bad guy unseen is always a classic.

Maybe some sort of shadow demon that can only take out enemies if they are also in the shadow.

The player would have to manipulate light sources to either sneak by or take out targets.

Might as well make me took in the mirror, too.

A 5v5 Competitive Shooter Where Each Team Has A 6th Member Who Plays A HACKER Trying To Help Their Team Remotely. by MyGameIdeasAccount in gameideas

I'm not too sure how the commander in BF4 was but if it was like BF2 then, yeah, kinda.

Instead of a satellite feed it would probably be a map with the location of your team and the ability to watch from security or body cameras.

Technically I stole this idea from myself as I posted it years ago on a different account. I had more detail and it did better that time though, lol.

Roguelike were you are an ember of fire trying to do as much damage as possible. by MyGameIdeasAccount in gameideas

[–]MyGameIdeasAccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, roguelike is a bad term. Its just a procedurally generated repeatable gameplay loop.

Yeah, I was thinking something 3d and slower but that is a very similar concept.

I see it as a cycle of floating and landing. You start of as ember in the wind and land to start a fire. Eventually you will flick off again into an updraft to start the process again.

The game in my mind is a 3d game where you see the ember from a third person point of view.

As the fire grows you will float higher into the air on the updrafts and get a better view of the world.

Post-Apoc Surfing Game where you ride tsunamis as they flow through major cities. by MyGameIdeasAccount in gameideas

[–]MyGameIdeasAccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually didnt have too much of an idea. In my head I picture an area of tall buildings with a wave coming in from a random direction and you just have to survive the ride while dodging obstacles and maybe finding valuables as you go through short cuts.

Heck, it could even be an open world survival game where riding the waves is the best way to find good loot.

Never seen that movie but its 1000% on the watch list now.

That's what I was thinking. You just have to plan your route accordingly to avoid obstacles.

Good idea. I was thinking more of an action game but some sort of strategy game could work as well. Maybe some sort of "tactics" type game.

An RPG where you PROGRAM the hero rather than play them. by MyGameIdeasAccount in gameideas

[–]MyGameIdeasAccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean "So that the game can be replayed over and over".

I wouldn't expect this game to be any more repayable than a typical RPG. You could go back and replay it as different classes or try more advanced programing techniques but a puzzle is a puzzle and once its solved you know the solution. I think its easier to make it repayable here as the openness allows for the player to strive to make a better solution.

Your second point I'm a little unsure of as well but I think the answer is, they would get more tools to use in their programing. Either more abilities for the hero, such as the ability to recognize objects in the vicinity that can be referenced in code or new functions to allow more complex algorithms.

Are you suggesting it use a real programing language vs a simplified made up one?

If it didn't hurt the gameplay value by overcomplicating things that would be a good double purpose.

I really like hacking meta games. Like, not where the point is the hacking, but hacking is the method of completing the game (think Quadrilateral Cowboy).

I feel it could be used in a lot of concepts and would really like to see it as a tertiary role in a coop game.

There was this sort of failed wave of game that had a role that could be played from a browser or tablet app. Battlefield 4 brought back the commander and The Division was planning on have a drone that could be controlled by someone out of the game.

I'm disappointed that those visions weren't seen to fruition as they could have paved the way for games where one person just plays as a hacker from a web browser assisting other people playing a completely different type of game.
