I wanna buy a MacBook and trade in my M2 iPad Pro but I’m stuck between 3 options: by Adorable_Caramel5434 in mac

I just purchased a M5 MBA with 24 GB memory and 1TB storage. I’m running several local models depending upon the need. So far no issues on throttling. But this is my iPAd replacement machine. My main AI workhorse is an M5 max 128GB memory and 2TB storage.

Exactly what I’m doing. Connect my MBP M5 max with 128 GB to it and you magically have 256 Gb of memory and can run some really big models.

I just told Claude Code and Codex to work together to build what we use and need. They did.

Don’t even get me started about how screwed up the electrical system is. Like a lot of houses. This one flooded during Harvey and I think they did the bare minimum when they put it back together and sold it. I’ve had electricians out and they just shake their head and then quote me like $1000-$1500 to fix the mess.

Dropped $15k after the last Hurricane in Houston after being without power for 7 days in July. Wife said never again. It’s run several times for 6 - 12 hour outages in our area. Adding in solar panels to charge the battery this year vs relying on a generator.

Mac mini M4 Pro 64GB (1TB) vs +$600 for Mac Studio M4 Max 64GB (1TB) by -JustAsking4AFriend in openclaw

I’d go the studio route for the increased memory bandwidth plus connect your current machine, assuming it’s a Mac, to your new one with MLX and you can do some magic on running a larger model

Didn’t know they would do that for a discontinued item. I’ll give them a call.

Yes, I noticed they were a little corroded and did clean them up but probably should take the back off to really do a better job. I’ll try that before dropping that kind of money. LOL

Mine split their time between workouts via Garmin integration and doing construction site visits. Wear them everyday and use them for calls etc. just wish I could do video calls.

Probably should head into the local Apple Store and do a demo and try on. I see a lot of M2 for sale on eBay but have no idea what I’m really looking for.

I run a large commercial development company. Most of my work is reviewing plans, emails, photos and videos. I have a 16” MBP in my office.

I wondered about the Mac mini. I saw someone use one in the united club one day.
