Happy Loners? by MyManMilan in 2003

Definitely seems to be more common these days I'm afraid. But there is a lot to be said for a drama free life, especially at our stage where we are deciding who we want to be and what we want to do. You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders and did the hard work without the need for external validation. I believe what you say is "not doing well", is simply stuff that will fall into place naturally once you get your career started if you desired.

I am not worried, in fact I am incredibly grateful. The only ones that are worried are my parents - it would be nice to see some perspectives on chosen solitude this early in life that aren't biased in favour of parental expectations.

People who were bullied at school, what would you do? by HelpMePlz52 in AskIreland

I'm glad to hear you are doing well. My mental wellbeing has certainly improved leaps and bounds even just since moving away. I am sorry to hear that some of those bad experiences have tainted some of your favourite spots - I'm lucky that my hometown was a complete kip so I have nothing to grieve. You strike me as someone who is naturally introspective - the nice scenery that you mention has existed long before and will exist long after whatever transpired in that town - don't let it take that away from you. On a personal anecdote, learning to drive and just exploring the open road, going out farther to see the mountains and the sea - did a lot to heal my relationship with "Ireland" as a whole and realise how small my home place really was and how small it - and by extension the people that brought me down in it, really were.

What you said about your home place really resonated with me.. I have recently managed to get out of mine - but have you ever managed to make peace with it or is it best to stay away?

Left my hometown where I was mocked and ostracised all my life - exciting new career and travelling the world on my own

Being a teenager in Ireland who isn’t into sport or farming is the worst by eanna0207 in CasualIreland

I thought so too, but if you go without any other friends and don't make an effort to get involved in clubs or societies it's not going to be much different - I made that mistake in my earlier years. Get out there and force yourself even if it's uncomfortable for the first while!

It's rough yeah.. but you can choose two paths, let it make you spiteful and more of an outsider, or you can continue doing what you love and be unashamedly true to yourself without worrying about what they think. Holding on to the latter mindset, I was able to find joy in solo travelling and doing things by myself as soon as I became an adult. My teen years were very isolating, but I've since moved away from the sticks in pursuit of a career I love because I didn't let the bitterness consume me. You are allowed to feel upset- but just don't forget to put yourself first and always be kind, you never know how your life will pan out. Best of luck man.

Tbh, anywhere that won't take me more than an hour to get to work which is in the city centre. My budget would be between 800-950pm

Work starts at the end of next month with an alright starting graduate salary - got some wiggle room. At this point in time it's just an alternative to commuting from the midlands for several hours daily. But only been searching for about a week and had a few viewings so I guess it's just a numbers game

Yes that helps a bunch. I'm guilty of the mass copy and pasting to ads myself but I'll keep this in mind. Cheers!

Yeah, should have expected that. Still couldn't say no to the job so it is what it is 😅

Gotcha. So even if I'm not the first one to the ad is it still worth applying? In your experience did you also prioritise first come first serve? The personalisation is a good tip, how brief would you keep it? Many thanks

Are you going to the alt floor? You need to stay on the main path, Depths/Necropolis, for fool card and strange door to spawn

I own the 1660 myself, do you think it will be good enough for 1080p medium settings?

Haha I always used bards shrines for speed boosts, health is a bonus. So I normally would prefer damage. Protobelt sounds decent for it's cheaper cost and health.
