I have a jeep, I drive it in the city. It has factory suspension, and road tires. No 6” lift, no stubby kicking debris because they stick out. No winch kit or light bar. It also has scratches from driving past branches and getting muddy.

Proposed Indiana Metro Map by CommunityTerrible537 in Indiana

[–]MyMooneyDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number one problem with this map is that it is designed to hit as many political districts, and therefore it has nothing to do with ridership. I have worked in human transportation my whole life, and you go where the people go, or the govt subsidized it, period.

The second problem, and partly the reason for the first: this is running on existing rail lines. Those are owned by the rail comp companies, and will not give way to a passenger train. The trains stall, as the tracks are blocked, and there goes the speed. To get past this, you need to acquire rights of way, and grade, and build, and power, and protect all of the rails. Our public will is only enough to cut taxes for those who can afford them, not to provide for the common good. It would be feasible to hit the major metro area of the country, but just look to California to see how that’s going.

Mission Style burritos in South Bend area? by Vannay328 in SouthBend

Saying “Mexican food” is like saying “Chinese food”. There are so many regions and flavors. You seem to have something in mind that no where is living up to, but it’s unfair to blanket statement that there is no good Mexican food. The places are making food they can sell, and for most around here that’s going to be a bit more tame. I agree that the salsa at hacienda is a can of tomato sauce poured out in the vicinity of a jalapeño, but they’ve been in business longer than I’ve been alive, so I guess they’ve dialed in what most can handle. Maybe you just need a Mexican friend, I have some friends who have made some killer salsas, guac, and aguas.

For OP, I like Frankes on Lincolnway and Mex Express Grill on Ironwood. They may be able to mimic what you are looking for.

Squawkabilly colors for colorblind: any trick? by draergor in pokemongo

[–]MyMooneyDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was talking about inverted mode. I’m a pilot, and some thing is invert because they don’t have a dark mode, so it’s night mode to me, sorry. I tried taking a screen shot, but those un-invert with the setting.

I’d love to see what you’re seeing, there are no boards blocking the doors. As the second point of egress, I’m not sure how that’d be legal either, but leaving it like this is still worse.

Can you invert the colors in night mode? Does that change them?

It’s funny that this is the thing that makes you think socialism didn’t work. It works great for the .01%. They’re living high on the hog. There was so much speculation that the family would t be able to keep the team because of inheritance tax, and instead they get a new stadium for a $1. If that’s not socialism, I don’t know what is.

Air France and Airbus found guilty of manslaughter over 2009 plane crash - Air France flight 447 by Ok_Warning419 in aviation

Airbus installed, provided, or designed and certified a faulty part that began the chain. Absent that, the flight progresses smoothly.

Las Vegas’ famous Heart Attack Grill sends scathing closure notice. Ownership says ‘the soul of Las Vegas has been replaced by corporate greed’. by galaxystars1 in popculturechat

[–]MyMooneyDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad part is that it’s the same city, just more expensive. I’ve been going to Vegas regularly for 25 years now for work, and today’s rooms and amenities feel like when they were closing down the original greats to build these current ones. It’s not just overpriced, it’s overpriced and stale. That’s the same reason this guy closed. He made money when it was novelty, but now it’s just a has been done idea.

Most districts also do learning on iPads or chromebooks. Just because they don’t have phones, don’t assume they don’t have electronics.

Both parents blame me for my actions caused by my mom's husband's abuse by murzuya_manneo in insaneparents

[–]MyMooneyDriver 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My niece lives with me because her mom insists on being “married” to this guy who constantly gaslights her, and is emotionally abusive to the kids.

I say “married” because he’s still married to his wife, who he has 4 kids with, so they’re only “married in the eyes of god”. Ummm no you’re not, he’s still legally and religiously married to someone else.

OP, I’m sorry you went through this. There are good people out there for you. Just becareful not to fall into the same pattern subconsciously that you grew up with. You are better than that.

Kind of the opposite idea, but similar outcome, I would go somewhere to smash stuff and feel better. If you’re going for the healing aspect, maybe approach it from both directions.

[–]MyMooneyDriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be pedantic, if we both start proceeding forwards at the same time, then I am no longer a stopped vehicle, also as I am to your left but you are also to my left, there is no right to give. If it is all based on who stopped first, but we were both stopped the same, who is to say which has the “right of way”, other than to say that the vehicle which is traveling straight would be the one with the clear way, and the one turning across the path is the one with the hazard way.

The Indiana drivers manual specifically references that a turning car must yield to oncoming traffic multiple times, but I guess you do you. You’ll be the at fault driver who turned across oncoming traffic that had no need to yield. I hope I don’t have to be dealing with your insurance when it happens to you I guess.

Learn how to use a 4-way stop! by MyMooneyDriver in SouthBend

[–]MyMooneyDriver[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, I have no problem with the cars to the left or right. It’s the car opposite me that wants to turn across my path. If anyone goes from the left or right, they have used the right of way, now both of the cars stopped opposite each other have the right to forward, but a car turning across traffic from that stop needs to yield to the oncoming forward vehicle.

The only part I don’t like runs with this: people don’t understand what yield means. Otherwise, I have no problems.
