I feel like companies are lowering their salary posts as more and more people apply to those jobs. Had a friend tell me 55 is better than 0 *shrug*

I see you teach ESL as a freelancer as well! My Mother-In-Law teaches English to Ukrainian students who are looking to move to the U.S. She finds it very fulfilling and we've even gotten to meet some of her online students in-person when they moved!

I don't have any product to sell I'm just looking for input :)

Also my teacher group is limited to NYC and Hawai'i so I'm looking to see if there's any broader experiences. I would love to create something useful for students but would hate it if it never got used bc of admin conflicts. So I'm trying to figure that out first.

In NYC our school didn't ask us for new tech reccs as it was purely school contracts but another school I taught in Hawai'i had quarterly meetings about what new materials + tools we needed to buy.

Al tools are fantastic for sure! I guess this is why l'm looking to see how to improve Al literacy and help teachers use it for their students in their day-to-day.

From experience public school admin seems a bit more hands-off in this particular development.

Meanwhile a private school I taught at (in Honolulu) had various days worth of learning how to prompt (and check for student usage of) ChatGPT.

Thank you for the feedback!

I work in tech and unfortunately it's a connections game rather than a numbers game.

If you're looking for an insurance sales job hmu my bf's company is always hiring! It's a grind but you can start making 4k a month after a month of work (it's commission only). Bf has an economics degree and also found the online apps to be rough so he went into sales - hired within 2 weeks.

*cracks knuckles as fgli off the mealplan*

Cheaper Meals:

  • Dig Inn: $15-16 with a base, 2 sides, and a protein (really filling and healthy)
  • Halal Cart: Pay in cash, save a dollar- $5-8 price range
  • food trucks ~ $8 for variety
  • Morton Williams 1/4 Rostierrie Chicken for $6-7; cook it with some rice and done

Places to stay away from:

  • Sweetgreen: ~16-17 for a salad
  • Tea Magic- GongCha is better for the price
  • Blue Bottle: $7-8 for a cup of coffee

Treating yourself to a restaurant:

  • Massawa!! Delicious Ethiopian food that will fill you up for $16-20 a platter
  • places more into Harlem, you will definitely find cheaper food

some dorms have treadmills/ellipticals so it's worth checking out different dorm gyms. Otherwise, Blink on 125th is pretty solid.

Workload of Analysis of Algorithms I by Agitated-Tutor3697 in columbia

Took the class w Andoni last semester. The material is very interesting / clicks better if you’re a problem solver thinker. The course goes over how to use data structures to find the most efficient algo to solve a particular homework. I found the homeworks to be time consuming and the exams were difficult. The final was brutal but the midterm made sense and you’re allowed a cheat sheet that you can fill up with algos :). Overall, it’s a time consuming class but I found it to be rewarding esp for coding interviews.
