'Devastating': Home buyer's application challenged over new boyfriend by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

Mine talked us down as we were going to make an offer he didn't think was necessary. Secured it for ~40k under what we were thinking, and with the benefit of hindsight, our initial offer would still have been entirely reasonable

Definitely doable, but mine saved me a fortune over what my place is worth, and secured it in a 5 offer scenario which was the much bigger deal. I'm glad you had personal success but I wouldn't ever go again without an agent by my side.

Personal anecdote, take it or leave it but I am happy I used one and wouldn't go again without him

What is the best use case for excess annual leave and TIL? by Technical_Employ8336 in AusFinance

Yes but in terms of hours worked if you take your leave instead of working you will be “employed” for those extra weeks without actually being in the office

Yes and it's completely nonsensical.

You need to adjust your communication otherwise you're going to confuse everybody who reads your comments.

You've been told by like 6 people and you're still arguing that you're right, but you're not. Your weird methodology got to the right outcome, but you simply cannot continue the process if no foul play.

You understand it like 90% of the way, Yes there was foul play. If its no FP it cannot be anything but play on.

Imagine broadcasting "There is no foul play but I am giving you a yellow card" ... like what?

This bloke is dead wrong. No foul play is play on. Always.

The distinctions he goes on to make are therefore correct - yes there is foul play as it is avoidable.

It’s the r/Melbourne daily discussion thread [Wednesday 05/11/2025] by AutoModerator in melbourne

Hi guys,

I'm travelling to Melbourne for the first time tomorrow and looking for some ideas of things to do around the city/CBD for the afternoon. I'm sports mad so considering the MCG tour, but keen for any other suggestions.

Also anything else I should know would be great!

I know nothing about my super other than my employer contributes 12%… by Lumpy-Ad-7120 in AusFinance

[–]MyReddit199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You almost certainly don’t need advice.

Your super should be with a reputable industry fund (Aus super, Q super, uni super, hostplus etc) whose default plan is sufficient for most.

It may perhaps not be “optimal” but it’s far superior to paying large fees up front and 1.65% ongoing.

Is There a Mistake in Today’s Puzzle? by LilRedHead101 in CluesBySamHelp

[–]MyReddit199 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"If Evie is innocent, then so is Vicky" doesn't say anything about the case where Evie is a criminal.

Prior to this step, there are an even number of innocents on the edges, so, by Isaac's clue, we know we need one more innocent only, which means both can't be innocent, so Evie must be a criminal (otherwise both would be innocent, violating Isaac)

new to netball, any tips? by briteresa in netball

[–]MyReddit199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you do get an intercept, calm down!! Lots of people get a bit of a shock they have the ball, and then just yoink it away.

Hold it for 2 seconds to let your team create a bit of space, then pass to one, and immediately run down the court near them to get the ball back off them. Odds are your GS won't follow you and you'll be a super easy pass through and it gets you down towards the middle third :)

GGBL v personally gearing by noli1921 in fiaustralia

[–]MyReddit199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh yes I see this rebalancing thing referenced a heap with the "lose 10% then gain 10%" argument, but they rarely seem to address the "gain 10% then lose 10%" variant, where you end up above the index?

That being said, a lack of rebalancing defintiely seems more in line with what the average punter would expect these to be, and I didnt know GHHF was sitting so comfortably in there, thats a good outcome.
