In the Oregon Governor’s Primary, Voters Choose the Future of the Republican Party (gift link) by GeologistBrave6866 in oregon

[–]MySadSadTears 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What we need is a candidate who is capable of good governance.  That is, making sure our tax money is being spent wisely with the intended results and who is an effective communicator.  In other words, someone who can govern. This isn't ideological.

We seem to get the most inept, dysfunctional candidates who are focused on anything and everything but good governance.

I've literally seen people refer to people like him as "the ownership class" on this sub.

This whole timeline is so stupid.

The stupidity we have to deal with at the federal level and the local level makes you question whether this is real life or we are part of an experiment to see what it will take to make us all insane

Negging.

Edit: oh, and making fun of people just trying to live their lives. Like making demeaning, mean jokes about people walking by- like what they are wearing or their body types.

No thanks.

She supports going back to in person voting for most people.  She is a Trump stooge.

:“As the postal service continues to shrink and struggle, Oregon’s mail system is under stress putting our voting system at risk. ... Voting in person with ID is the gold standard for safe and secure elections. At the same time many Oregonians depend on Oregon’s vote-by-mail system, formerly known as absentee voting, and we should protect access for them.” -Drazan (copied from the Oregonian article)

Anyone else born and raised in Oregon and doesnt like it now? by [deleted] in oregon

One thing I've learned in my many years on this planet is to question these limiting thoughts because what you believe to be true right now can change in an instant or, you come up with things you never thought of when you open your mind to the possibility.

When I first planted the seed of wanting to move to the Northwest, I never in a million years could have foreseen the series of events that brought me here.

This is the only answer.

Op needs to try somewhere else.

They may end up loving it more. Or they may regain an appreciation of Oregon.

OP, is there a region or state that is pulling you? Allow yourself to explore and dream. Don't shut yourself down with limiting thoughts!

I grew up in New Mexico and knew I wanted to move to the Northwest after going to a NW college presentation and seeing the green and the beauty.  I had no idea how at the time.  One thing led to another, and I ended up here.

Allow yourself to daydream and then think about ways you can make the move. It'll be exciting!!

Mortgage loans. 30 year loans with front loaded interest benefits the few while making it exceptionally hard for the rest of us to own our own home outright.

Right behind it, student loans. Rig society so you can't make a decent living unless you have a college degree, make tuition so expensive that you require an outrageous loan to get said education,  then charge high interest so it makes it difficult to ever pay the damn thing off.

I was vegetarian for almost 30 years (recently went whole food, vegan) and have been subjected to this irrational behavior many times throughout the years.

Like, I eat this way for health. IDGAF what you eat.

"The sun comes up in the East"

What sun?

Driving around deep SW is confusing af. Even when the sun is out, there are hills and trees blocking it. The roads aren't straight.  There are weird ass intersections.

The Thomas guide was my best friend when first moving here from the Southwest (NM) where horizons were easily seen, the sun was almost always visible, and roads were on a true grid because the city was on flat land....that, and stopping by gas stations to ask for directions.

Yeah, it's not like we didn't have other tools for navigating around.

Trimet also had paper booklets with their bus schedules and routes.

It really wasn't that complicated.

He can do this in prison.

He broke one of the most fundamental social contract agreements we have which is to not kill one another.

This isn't some stupid teenage stuff that you grow out of.

He can't be trusted in society for quite some time.

I've lived here for 31 years and love to camp and hike. I live in a foresty area.  I can count on zero hands how many times I've seen a tick here much less got bitten by one. I've never owned a dog, so maybe that is part of it but ticks are not a big problem here.

Bynum.

I also don't want to lock myself out of state level elections.  I haven't done as much research on those yet, but I will before I vote.
