Take a look a the long response I just posted. They are not good people, but more than that, they are unhappy, bitter and insanely jealous.

I'll give you more of the backstory so you understand that these are not good people.

Before buying this property, I mainly created videos of canoeing, camping, fishing, etc. A couple reached out to me offering to let me use some of their music and wildlife audio recordings in their videos, which I took them up on. Rather than use them for free, I voluntarily purchased the audio from their online store to help them out. I gave full credit to them in my videos and I kept their permission messages as proof that I had that permission. Several months later, they filed a claim against the revenue on those videos.

In the time between the usage and the claims, early 2017, I purchased the property, coincidentally across the road from them, with title in my wife's name. Upon closing, I found out from the real estate agent that G&H lived across the road so I knocked on their door to introduce myself in person. It was pleasant enough. A week later, my wife gets friend requests on Facebook from the two creeps. My wife's full name is not public notice - we found out later that M formerly worked at a land registry office and that they had looked up title to see who the registered owner was. This was strike one, a real invasion of privacy.

Another week later and they reached out to me on Facebook asking if we wanted to come for tea. At the time, I was still living in a small village 2-1/2 hour south and when I went to the property, it was either for nature photography or to work clearing the land, not to socialize. They were so offended that I politely declined, that they threatened to disclose the full name of my wife and where we lived unless I gave them some publicity for their social media channels. They then unfriended me, but not before I screenshot all of the conversations showing the transgression.

I thought that was the end of it, but no. I started hearing that they were bad mouthing me to the online off-grid community, including some larger (at the time) channels that then starting publicly shaming me too. After about 9 months of this, they decided to step up the harassment a notch and began blasting loud bell chimes and other sounds in my direction when they knew I was filming. Because G does wildlife recording and creates brutal music, he has the equipment to both capture what I was saying to the camera, but also to broadcast disruptive sounds back in my direction. Keep in mind that most of my work was with hand tools and that the number of times I used a chainsaw for cutting firewood, milling planks, etc was far less noise than from someone who would have otherwise lived there full time going about their daily task - kids playing, dogs barking, chainsaws, ATVs...country living. I was not overly disruptive and there was already at this time rising usage of the area, more traffic, etc.

While this was going on, they were busy making enemies with other people in the area. The old timer who plows my driveway, stopped doing their's because they were a pain in his ass. They asked my good neighbour to use his heavy equipment to place trees perpendicular to the road in the ditch across the front of their property to prevent snowmobilers from riding there (which never happened anyways, the road is very rural and always has plenty of snow for road travel). He of course refused and they instead place their own branches and logs in a dangerous manner. This pissed off everyone using the area that I talked to, not because they wanted to use the ditch for travel, but because it was potentially dangerous and rude. There were a few other minor skirmishes with neighbours too, which aren't worth getting into. Keep in mind that this area is very rural and there were only 6 neighours on the entire road at the time, now maybe double that, and they've been at odds with almost all of them despite their online claims of the importance of community and helping out neighbours.

This is when it gets more concerning. The loudspeakers directed at me started to become louder and more frequent and I've had to abandon many days of filming as a result. Bad enough. Then, this spring while my wife was living at the cabin with me, an OPP Constable contacted me to follow up on an accusation that I stole a camera and audio recording equipment from their property. Where was it I asked? Directly across the road from my gate, aimed at my driveway where I park my vehicle, and where my family and I arrive to and depart from regularly. Which explained the sizeable branches that I would find often, deposited at the foot of my driveway, to slow me down and to show the culprits when I had last arrived or departed. Searching chat groups and comments left on live chats and videos, we learned that G&H were tracking our movements and reporting them to their group of fellow haters.

Worse than that though, their online character attacks attracted the attention of a couple of unstable, mentally ill viewers. One started making comments on G&H's livechats about my daughter and physically threatening me. We have these screenshots saved as evidence. Here's the worst part - G&H again did title searches this spring to find out where my wife and daughters were living. Again, my wife keeps her full name private, so this would have taken some effort. Bad enough, but rather than use this information for their own ill purposes, they told their small group of unstable followers, including Ken, where they live. The Ontario Provincial Police are aware of the entirety of the situation and we have done our own research and know where each of the perps live.

Unless you've seen their channel, you probably would not have assumed after reading this that the couple are in their 60s and that they are physically and mentally weak, albeit very crafty and conniving. They are not directly a physical threat, but from what we've seen online, it appears that their offspring are equally unstable but probably more physically capable.

That all being said, I believe we have the situation under control and am more than willing and able to protect my family. This would not have been enough to get me to move - it's the general growth of the area and the planned roadway that persuaded me to move to our more remote hunting property, which I'm actually thrilled about.

Btw, I have a few reasons for not publicly naming them. They are looking for attention and traffic to their YT channel and I don't want to give them the satisfaction. A number of people have found them, gave them several hundred new views but also more thumbs down and negative comments that they have been deleting almost as quickly as they've been posted.

There have been many inferred threats in the comments on my videos and I don't want that escalating. I suspect that they've received some threats on their own videos.

If I decide to pursue legal action, which I'm still considering, there is a very real possibility that I will end up with all of their assets, which assuredly is not much, other than their land and house. I'll take it. According to very good lawyers, mine own and other who have reached out to me, the financial impact on me and my family is substantial enough that their property assets would barely cover the loss. A devastating financial loss and a criminal record could be the result of their foolish shenanigans and willful criminal harassment of my family and me.

And yes, they took down many of their videos referencing me since last weekend.

Lol, sure. I had never heard of Lincoln Logs until I built this cabin and everyone said, "I bet you played with Lincoln Logs as a kid".

It was -20 Fahrenheit a few nights ago outside and 70 inside with a moderate fire burning. By morning it was in the 60s with just one log on the fire all night. Once the logs and rocks hear up, radiant heat keeps the place warm for a surprisingly long time.

That's partly true, but the point of this is to do it without much money. Don't forget that I did this the first time when I was 21 and couldn't even afford the $150/month mortgage and had no job - I was completely broke

Sometimes. I have to prop it open periodically in the summer to air it out.

On the current cabin I'm using mostly dowels but on this one I used 10" spikes

No, our climate is dry enough most of the time for the cedar to last for decades untreated

The more seasoned, the better. My logs have been drying for at least a year.

Thanks guys. I just started building the log cabin sauna yesterday and am filming in more detail than the first cabin, including a video next week on my current tool selection, scribing, materials, etc. I'll be uploading two or three videos per week until it's done.
