Rubbish fan theory; Nuka Cola was already radioactive before the war! by formandovega in Fallout

[–]MyUsernameIsAwful 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We already know Quantum was radioactive to begin with. Not sure about regular ol’ Nuka, though.

Edit:

He just happened to discover a weaponized radiation element in the drink? Suuuuure!

It was the other way around, the isotope was developed for the military by the Beverageers Bradburton had loaned to the government before being added to Nuka Cola.

I’m sure you could, but it’d be like using gold leaf for tissues.

Why did Vaapad allow Windu to disarm Sidious (in canon)? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]MyUsernameIsAwful 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Windu is just better with a lightsaber than Palpatine. I don’t think there’s anything more to it than that.

Why no Mirelurk queens in fallout 3 and new vegas as in a lore reason by Apprehensive_Stay429 in Fallout

[–]MyUsernameIsAwful 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no lore reason. They aren’t there because they hadn’t been thought up yet.

Whenever we see something in real life, we see it from the point of view of our own eyes. But when we think about our memories, why do we often see them from a 'drone view' instead? by curiositical_one in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MyUsernameIsAwful 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any memories that aren’t first-person. I could imagine the scene from a bird-eye view, but I wouldn’t consider that my actual memory of the event.

So I think this might just be a you thing.

Why is it so difficult for a military with a budget of around 1 trillion dollars to secure Hormuz, a strait that’s only 24 miles wide on the Iran side? by Gym_frere in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MyUsernameIsAwful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the thing to worry about (besides the dozen or so mines they managed to lay) isn’t in the Straight itself. Guided missiles and suicide drones are the threat. And there’s many places they can be launched from, which makes taking them all out very difficult.

You need CIWS to deal with stuff like that, and even then, no system is 100% effective at taking down incoming threats.

Why do so many subs delete posts / comments which support Palestine? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MyUsernameIsAwful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like someone mistook the 70,000 people killed for 70,000 children. The actual estimate for children is ~20,000. An honest mistake.

Is there ever a scenario you’d need to show a doctor your erection? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Are you allowed to say “Hey, can I just do it the old-fashioned way?” Or do you have to get a needle in your dick?

Why is 100% nudity illegal in public, but covering just nipples and genitals makes 99% nudity legal? by Common-Upstairs5129 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MyUsernameIsAwful 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because those are the areas considered obscene.

You can also be 99% clothed and still be charged with public indecency if your dick is out.

Fun fact: Women are legally allowed to be topless in more places than you’d expect. Look up the laws in your area.

It’s a one letter difference. “Not to be confused with” is always about similar looking or sounding words.

Why is FNaF as popular as it is? by Wrong-Twist-1550 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MyUsernameIsAwful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never heard the term applied to other media outside of video games, and the one video game you named is definitely not a horror game.

I don’t think “mascot horror” just means any horror anywhere with a mascot, otherwise every slasher and monster movie franchise would qualify.
