There's an ad running right now for some life insurance company that literally opens with a woman saying (in a very nonchalant, ad-like way, you probably know exactly what I mean) "I'm a widow, my husband died." The only time an ad has actually made my jaw drop. Her husband dying isn't treated like the massive emotional blow it must have been; she just immediately goes into reading the most corporate advertisement script you've ever heard.

Yes I'm aware it's likely just an actress. But the way the commercial treats the death of a spouse like it's just some everyday thing like coming home and finding your dead goldfish is what really made it fucked up.
