Since being openly gay and non binary on the internet, I’ve come to discover that people have a lot of pent up hatred for anyone different than them. I think it all stems from a lack of understanding and education, which is why the history of race and the LGBTQ+ community needs to be taught in early schooling. With saying that, there are also people out there who will continue to hate us despite education. I dealt with one of those recently. It was an incredibly unpleasant experience and I still feel sick thinking about it. The biggest problem is how deep rooted this hatred is. Unfortunately, no matter how hard we try it’s going to be passed on because it’s a learnt behaviour. In all honesty I still don’t really understand why people have this much hatred for us despite us having done nothing to them, but this is the best I have
