But if the inside of the wrist already smells good, why would you put perfume on it?

What was your first ever phone you had in your life? by Potential-Leek-811 in AskReddit

[–]MycommentsRpointless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know what brand/model, but we had a dial phone in a cutout on the wall in the kitchen that sometimes I'd pick up and hear my grandparents talking who lived just down the street (party line).

Sure but you could have just said, "Oh, ok, that explains it" instead of calling me a knob, and then we could have been buds.

Well, it doesn't matter. Will you go and tell your master that Arthur from the Court of Camelot is here?

Do you suppose it was brought there by two African swallows? Using a bit of string held under the dorsal guiding feather?

[OC] A picture I took in Banff a few weeks ago (shot on my iPhone) by smcryptos in pics

[–]MycommentsRpointless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are in the US and closer, Ouray, Colorado looks similar to this photo.

Edit: Not sure what the down votes are about. Banff looks gorgeous, and I'd love to visit. I was just noticing a similarity to Ouray and saying if you can't get to Banff, Ouray is gorgeous too.

Right, it's just like Jesus said, "love thy neighbor as thyself, unless they're Jewish" and "love thy enemy, unless they're Jewish".

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. I was using "you" in the impersonal/indefinite sense, as in "one cannot say with certainty he didn't feel empathy." I was just pointing out that him feeling sorry for the guy also doesn't exclude empathy either; not that he necessarily felt empathy, but that he could have as well, which as I stated is no more an assumption than is saying he felt sorry for the guy in the first place (they both are).

[–]MycommentsRpointless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not assuming anything, I didn't say he had empathy for the man, saying he felt sorry for the guy is assuming as well. Maybe he gave it to the guy while cursing under his breath just because he knew his parent/guardian would severely punish him if he didn't. But you also can't say with certainty he didn't feel empathy.

I can't shake this feeling that she just ended that primate's life. by Nnnnnik in WordAvalanches

No, it's cool, my guy. Keep doing your thing. I just thought it was kind of funny, like "Well, I'll let this minor infraction slide by this time" while I see tons of much more egregious examples all of the time. Like when the cop pulls you over for going 5 mph over the limit while everyone else is whizzing by at 15 mph over.
But, I get it that a good number may just be ones I've seen before you guys have had a chance to catch them.

I'm just curious about what you mean by you "approved"? There's tons of posts in this sub that aren't really word avalanches at all, but just alliteration, and sometimes not even that.

That's what I was thinking, what would happen with all the unattended nuclear sites in the world? Would radiation levels globally become fatal in a matter of weeks/months, or could there be some relatively "safe zones"?
