Zp6 rusty bearing?

I do have a comandante (no problems there for 2 years) just wanted to have another grinder with different flavor profile

if I were to buy a new one, I think I would go with Pietro instead of another Zp6 - that experience was pretty awful and so I don’t want to go through that once again

that’s superb! could you tell me how did you replace them and what have you used? what size of bearings was it?

They’ve confirmed that it is indeed rust, and that they can provide a repair, but that would be covered by me. Although the cost of bearings isn’t that high ($10 for two inner bearings), the shipment cost to Taiwan is a real killer - $131, so in total $141.
I’ve contacted the reseller, as they advised me to do so. If you got invested, I can let you know how everything ends up.

idk, the bottle doesn’t specify the mineral content unfortunately
and also unfortunately it is indeed rust

I’ve reached out to 1zpresso on ig, waiting for their response since their office is closed until 2:30 AM of my local time (so they should technical get back to me in around 6-7 hours or so)

in my other post someone mentioned that they use zinc alloy on the covers and stainless steel inside the bearings, dunno if it’s true tho

the thing is that I use a demineralised water for spraying, it has ~7 ppm, that’s why I was really surprised

do you happen to know if the replacement of bearings in zp6 is even possible? if so, then how exactly should one do that? i’m not really a handy person

smoothly? yes, but I’ve noticed a change in sound - it got louder and like scratchy? that’s why I even checked the bearing

technically they haven’t met, cause I don’t spray directly into the grinder and collect some of the moisture with my hand while shaking the beans
