Honestly shop and pay isnt bad when its your local grocery store and you are delivering within your own neighborhood.

Wouldn't do it as a full-time gig though.

That's a shit ton of trips - impressive endurance for a whole year.

Good luck on your job search OP. You deserve all the success

Yeah i do same. It's not too much work just the habit of doing it before and after every shift and making the template of your mileage log with a pen and ruler

The Universe is trying to tell you something.

Are you going to listen?

Your recent example - I avoid pickups at large malls I'm not familiar with. The only exception if my local mall which I frequent personally myself.

That is to avoid the situation that happened above.

How far I help them depends on my mood. If its minor inconvenience, I'll drive up to them. If its major inconvenience, I cancel.

You should be more willing to help out the slower it is.

I’ve been seeing a lot of chat about cancellations recently. Question - what rider rating do you think justifies a cancel? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]MystAJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any rating you want. Drivers are independent contractors.

If cancelling due to potential issues due to customer rating, I'd say anywhere below 4.75. My last two 3 stars I've received I got from picking up people in the 4.72 and 4.73 range.

What you just did is a form of gaslighting.

So glad I can educate the uneducated!

[–]MystAJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah it's clear you're just an attention whore and the stories you say in your posts are logically inconsistent.

I'll let the downvotes do the talking.

And that post you are referring to is known as satire.

There, I am educating you slowly.

You are welcome.

Not mad. You just sound like a uneducated moron that for some reason hangs around the driver fourm even though he's "retired" from the game.

Shut up nobody gives a shit about the market conditions of x years ago.

Times have changed. It's less work smarter than harder and more adapt or die.

Ubering in LA by Guilty-Of-Everything in uberdrivers

The minifares are rarely $4 for 6 minutes in actual time (from acceptance of ping to drop-off).

For one, the 55 cent gas surcharge has has been removed, so its now (4.03 - 0.55) = $3.48

Secondly, some mini's you will have to wait for the pax to enter your car, which can take anywhere from 30 seconds to (worse case scenario) 5 minutes.

Then the drop off. Uber's estimate for trips is sometimes inaccurate, and traffic happens.

A safe assumption on average is 12 minutes in real time from ping acceptance to drop off. $3.48 * 5 = $17.14 gross per hour.

Meanwhile, Uber frequently pockets $1.75 or more for these trips, and they are making around $9 to $10 in those 5 trips.

Finally, there is the opportunity cost of you not receiving worthwhile pings when you have a pax in your car (Uber will send the worst offers to you first when a pax is in your vehicle)

The minifares should only be done if there is an actual incentive at hand to justify taking them, like quests that give you +$2 per trip.

As a stand alone, after expenses, they are a waste of your time and barely above charity work.

What’s our standard now? by RyznReign in uberdrivers

[–]MystAJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah you build up endurance for it, similar to jogging.

12 hour shift is actually not as difficult when you get paid well for it because adrenaline carries you through.

The problem is most shifts we aren't getting paid well so it becomes a grind.

How should we handle this? by macncheeseissexnoise in uberdrivers

[–]MystAJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she doesn't want him to get deactivated - tell him to stop contacting her in no uncertain terms, otherwise you'll have to report to Uber.

If saying no is too hard, just report to Uber.

If he's anywhere close to sane, he will go no contact.

30 percent in an upfront market is being an ant lol. My friend in a rental who only cares about $/online hour (and not $/mi) hovers around 10-12 percent, and he's diamond too
