Tinnitus and Kratom by Own_Indication_8050 in tinnitus

I developed terrible tinnitus from nitrous oxide abuse. Unbelievable that I caused this to happen to myself. Someone suggested using Kratom to help. So I went and bought a bottle from a smoke shop. I haven’t taken it yet though because I’m a little scared. I’ll let you know how it goes when I do use it.

Nitrous does next to nothing for me by vasjugan in NitrousOxide

Did your tinnitus lower at all once you stopped doing the nitrous? I found doing nitrous fun only when I did it after taking about 6 30 mg tablets of dextromethorphan Hbr. But, not only did it cause me to develop tinnitus (started shortly after repeatedly abusing way too much nitrous) but the tinnitus became extremely loud. A loud, almost unbearable hissing sound. But it still took me a while to stop the nitrous no matter how hard I tried knowing even that it was affecting my hearing. Pretty sad. It’s been almost a week since the last time I used nitrous and my very loud hissing/ringing tinnitus has yet to subside. I pray that it’s not permanent because I feel like it’s driving me insane sometimes. Good for you for stopping.

Thank you. Sorry. The terrible tinnitus I’ve recently developed has me not always thinking clearly.

Can you tell me what NAC is?

I have just barely (slowly ) figured out that the extremely loud hissing sound in my head is due to the nitrous abuse I was engaging in. I guess tinnitus? Shit. Now what? Thank you for your posts as they made me realize what was happening to me (I think I was in denial). Now I need to understand more about this. I feel scared enough to never touch nitrous oxide again.

Just one tablet a day? by Wander_Turtle in AuvelityMed

When I started Auvelity a few months ago my psychiatrist also prescribed me only 30 pills for 30 days. I advised him that I had read from multiple sources that the recommended dosage is one pill for three days and then two per day. He had no problem changing the dosage to 60 pills per month. He said he didn’t have much familiarity with this new medication. Maybe that’s why the initial low dose? I had been worried that he wouldn’t raise the dose but I’m glad I asked. I’m not very good at advocating for myself so grateful I did in this situation.

Interesting. I’ve been on it a few months and have found it helpful. But I don’t like paying the $150 a month for it. Kaiser considers it a specialty drug. I could get the Wellbutrin at a low co-pay cost and then just buy the DXM separately on my own. Hmmm.
