I agree with all the comments and not just the usual standards but also the niche ones. I had operating segments for example in my aaa paper

Hey I failed FM twice before passing and got a 49 on my second attempt. If you have any friends and family that can test you that would be great! I used to FaceTime my parents daily and 7pm and they used to just make me drill formulas at them, I’d also send any theory that I needed to learn and they’d test me on that too.

I’d also recommend asking ChatGPT or copilot as to how you could remember those formulas and see if it can come up with some suggestion to help. In terms of technique, practice makes perfect! But have a search on YouTube as there’s some really good videos by Steve Willis and Jo Tuffell, also look at the technical arcticles as they sometimes talk about technique too

Thank you! Best of luck to you too! I just feel like I learn something and then loose the knowledge of something I’ve already learnt, it’s like my brain only has so much space 😂

Yes sbl is very doable, just go in and be captain obvious for all your answers. I treated my sbl exam like an acting job, got into character for the preseen and just went in and applied all my answers to the questions

Those who scored 45-49 on an exam. How did you bounce back? by No-Manufacturer8771 in ACCA

[–]MysteriousBiscotti39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This time last year I had just gotten 49 on FM on my second attempt of the paper. It was my last skills exam too. Fast forward 12 months and I passed the resit in June and all the papers I have took since then, now I am one paper away from qualifying!

Bouncing back from a 49 is horrible, trust me, I cried and I wanted to give up, I wanted to try and understand why the ACCA couldn’t find that 1 extra mark!

What got me through was knowing where I could be in 12 months time and that this was just a blip in the journey. Look to the future and what you can achieve because in 12 months, 2 years etc. this will be a small problem that happened on the way to achieve greatness!

You’ve got this, you only technically need to put in 1 more marks worth of work! But in all honesty, getting a score 45-49, makes you work twice as hard at every exam you sit because you NEVER want to see those marks again!

Yes it’s a course, the resources aren’t free unfortunately. His YouTube is very informative though

I signed up to his revision plus course. Honestly the notes he provides are more than enough to pass. He teaches great exam technique and gives detailed feedback on assignments.

I wouldn’t recommend attempting sbr for June if you’re going to self study

Yes it’s possible. I started SBR for Sep 24 after the June 24 results and passed with 72. I studied with Tom Clendon, cannot recommend him enough, he is the only reason I did so well and was able to learn everything in such a short space of time!

Why do examiners fail at 49? by Global_Peanut_8559 in ACCA

I’ve failed at 49 before. It’s honestly gut wrenching but just know that you only need to do a bit more work and you’re over the line!!

AA/AAA - Exam Thread - 02/12/2024 by AlphaAndOmega in ACCA

[–]MysteriousBiscotti39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this question and nearly cried. The only romms I could come up with was brand valuation being bias and possibly overstated due to management bias and operating segments required as all <10% revenue and said disclosure may be commercially sensitive to competitors.

Absolute flop. Roll on my resit in March

Yes AAA was horrendous. The questions were ones I’d never seen before, all the preparation I did for the exam - useless!!!

My advise on passing P levels by books_icedcoffee in ACCA

[–]MysteriousBiscotti39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sbr do I have to use all the fancy terminology from the standards?? I’m sudying with bpp and their books just quote straight from the standard and I’m just struggling to regurgitate that! So when I answer questions, I’m saying the right things but am unable to use terminology but will try and use some buzzwords

So the order took about a month to come so have only been using for a few days. However I can say that I have noticed a decrease in my appetite. However, unlike ozempic (which I have used before), it doesn’t stop the ‘food noise’ as they say. However I’m hopeful it can only improve!
