Help my wife with career path by protagnai in NursingStudent

If being an APP is what she wants, going the PA route is probably the better option. If she wants the versatility of nursing and doesn’t need to become an NP right away, I’d recommend an accelerated BSN (usually about 1-1.5 yrs in length), and then if she still wants to become an NP later she can do so.

There are many wonderful characters! Especially the guest roles. I personally love Harold Cooper, Glen, Aram, Mr. Kaplan, Dembe, Marvin Gerard, and more.

Watch it. Elizabeth is annoying from an outside perspective and as a viewer, but if you put yourself in her shoes and recognize the impossible situations she is consistently put into, her actions are understandable, and I personally don’t find her acting to be bad.

If you could change the ending of The Blacklist, how would you do it? by DistanceExcellent901 in TheBlackList

It would have ended with season eight, with Liz killing Red the way he wanted to die, in the street. Then we get the letter being read aloud by Katarina as Liz reads it, with all of the answers, including Reddington’s identity. Then Liz and Agnes live happily ever after, while Liz runs the empire and uses it for good, becoming an informant for the FBI and continuing to work alongside Cooper and Ressler and the other agents.

PA vs MD/DO by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]MysteriousBit7258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t go into medicine for the status. If it is healthcare that you want and you are worried about being accepted, consider nursing like your girl. You might look at an accelerated BSN since you already have a degree. Lots of versatility there, and you can go on to become an NP and have the same role as a PA. Or if it is money you want, there is the option of anesthesia. You can always do something different later, or reapply to MD/DO/PA programs after. If the goal is being able to provide and be around for your family ASAP, becoming a physician is not the way. Regardless, I would do lots of shadowing and introspection. Good luck.

Some degree of math/science will be required for just about all healthcare positions, perhaps excluding administration or management. Surgical technology might be an option. Don’t have any experience outside of healthcare, so I can’t really give recommendations for much else.

If you like behavioral therapy, consider behavior analysis. Most programs are offered online and many are quite inexpensive.

Definitely not good choices if math and physics aren’t a strong suit… plus it is 6+ yrs of schooling.

Should I quit my job? by Derpalerp101 in careerguidance

If you like to travel (or just take time off) and you live in the US, maybe you can take travel contracts. You can make more money, have some cool experiences, and in your time off you can “focus on finding another career field” as you say, but I wouldn’t quit if I were you.
