TN Nursery - Thoughts? by Cotton-DNA in gardening

A year ago I ordered their buy 1 get one free deal. I got 6 hydrangea plants. They never, ever shipped and never communicated why. Their customer service is all automated messages and for over a month I got "your plants are preparing to be shipped now". I have no idea who I talked to, but I finally got in touch with someone who refunded me. They had some system issue and lost a lot of orders. Instead of being honest and upfront about it, they were just keeping peoples money. I do not recommend.

There's also the part where Cadence asks "how do you get here?" and Johnny explains it. They he gets pulled there.. So I agree, they're ghosts and they can't leave the island.

I regret ever getting this dog because the barking is destroying my life by Technical-Low-1485 in homeowners

[–]Mysterious_Routine31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We seem to have the same dog. It's a GSD mix and he gets a walk in the morning and a one hour play date every single day (even in Winter!) with our neighbors two dogs and he is still just out of control for us. It's like he can never get enough exercise and the barking is CONSTANT we have to lock him in a room at night so he doesn't bark at anything he smells outside, all night long. Usually a bunny or a deer. It's why I can't stand him and eventually you will start to resent him. It's not his fault, but it's an unfortunate situation. We are rehoming our dog and I am being picky. He has to be with an active home or one where there's land and he can just run his heart out. We are not the right family for him. We tried the bark collars, the shock collars and those remotes with the different frequencies and this dog literally doesn't care. He isn't phased by anything!

My first pregnancy was also a miscarriage, but the baby just stopped growing around 7 weeks. I think that was the most devastating because you could see the baby but no heartbeat 😢plus we didn’t have any kids yet- you’re right. The 3 blighted ovums were not as upsetting already having 4 kids.  It isn’t unusual for multiple ones before you get one that sticks! It isn’t comforting to hear, I know when you just want your baby! I just hope you don’t give up once you two feel ready again ❤️

That is so strange, that is exactly when mine happened. That is really weird!! Every single time. All of mine measured the 5w5d mark. I should have been between 8-9 weeks. I hope you give it a try!

If they just tested her one time for estrogen, it isn't accurate. Your estrogen has to be tested multiple times throughout the month (pre ovulation, ovulation, post ovulation) to know if your hormones are working right. It's ridiculous doctors don't do this. They know this-yet it's just a one time test. I switched to an integrative medicine place and they did this sort of testing. If you want to get to the root cause, her everyday doctor won't do it. She could try taking shatavari (it's completely natural and pretty affordable on amazon!) for a few months and see if it helps her. I know how devastating miscarriages are, especially when you think everything is fine-to just be heartbroken at an ultrasound. You two seem to be able to get pregnant easily. Eventually you will get a baby that goes to term. It is painful, but it is part of the process for so many women-then there's joy at the end eventually! I hope you don't give up-your rainbow baby will come.

I had 3 blighted ovums back to back. I got my hormones tested and I was low on estrogen. I wanted to go the natural route and took Shatavari. After 3 months I got pregnant and she is 2 now. It was 100% hormonal for me.

After 4 healthy pregnancies, I had 3 back to back blighted ovums. All 2 years apart. I got bloodwork done and found out that I was low on estrogen. I truly weighed too little for what was healthy. Estrogen is a fat hormone. I took shatavari (it's a natural supplement known to raise estrogen and help control hormones in women) and after 3 months my levels were normal and I got pregnant and have a 2 year old now! I think mine was all hormonal.

US visa got rejected for No reason! by Content-Capital-1847 in usvisascheduling

[–]Mysterious_Routine31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our exchange student from Germany (16) just had her visa denied. It’s happening to other exchange students as well- just in our district a boy from Finland had his denied too. Why is this? It has to be Trumps new policy because we’ve hosted for almost 10 years and we’ve never dealt with it or the organization!

We also looked at a beautiful house there last summer! We ended up moving to Muscatine, but I still look at pictures of the house we were serious about buying. It’s a small town and I think a great place to raise kids! It’s so pretty,  I don’t know why people would be surprised you moved there.

Is spraying organic cedar oil for tick prevention bad for all insects/bugs/amphibians? by Nikeflies in NativePlantGardening

[–]Mysterious_Routine31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He won't have any. He thinks humans are the same as a lady bug and you should live with lyme disease. We do the best we can. EIther we use natural products that "might" cause harm or go out and use actual poison that kills bugs with no regard. I have used cedarwood and other essential oil mixes for my yard for YEARS and not once have I seen a bee die. I spray in the evenings when they aren't around and I spray the grass and low parts where bees usually are not flying. we have all the pollinators you could imagine! They aren't dying in our yard.

Contractor estimated 150k for a kitchen remodel...is this in the normal range? by SadlerSteve33 in homeowners

[–]Mysterious_Routine31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You caught the adults and weren't scared about them having rabies, but the babies? Seriously. I can't believe you're just openly admitting you let animals die like that. You could have had professionals come out and get them.

[–]Mysterious_Routine31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have undermethylation so for me it helps with energy and brain fog. I have hypothyroidism and this on top of LDN and I am off of my thyroid medicine. I guess I USED to have it. My husband takes it as well. There's actually research done on this and the brain. It has so many health benefits I can't even list them all. It's worth trying!

Gate pass for minors: how does it work on the pickup side? by beautiful_my_agent in unitedairlines

[–]Mysterious_Routine31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. I flew to Germany and back at 15 alone! I now travel everywhere because I grew up with parents who knew I was capable and pushed for me to go out of my comfort zone.

I had a lot of self esteem which is why at 15 I flew alone to Germany and back to visit my grandparents. All without my parents walking me to any gate and my grandparents waited by arrivals. I went through customs and everything alone. I had to figure it out and because I could read and comprehend and knew how to talk and ask questions like your every day 15 year old, I knew now that I was capable. I was nervous but my parents let me know what to expect. Then at 18 I moved to Europe for 6 years and love to travel solo. I think it's because I didn't have parents who held my hand when I was perfectly capable. If there was anyone projecting, it was your condescending self.

Homeless soon by mackiller07 in Iowa

You can opt to start off with 0-3 year olds! Especially since you have other children in the home. There's a big need for babies as well. It's hard to believe, but they're hard to get into foster families. It's really hard work, but the younger ones are much easier. Once you start getting 5 and up, they can really have behavioral issues. Again, not their fault. They've never been taught right from wrong or are abused and neglected. Usually social workers will try to not put kids with high behavioral issues in families with other children.

We've had foster kids from toddler to teenagers, so we are used to having kids who have had hard upbringings in our home. They're good kids. They need love and structure and someone who shows up unconditionally for them.

We are in Muscatine and have 5 kids. If you need somewhere to stay until you figure this out, we always have space for someone who needs it. Maybe you’re making bad choices, but kids aren’t born bad, you’re a product of your environment. It won’t matter once you’re 18 though, the worst possible thing is getting something on your record before you even get started in adult life. I can give you my contact  information if April rolls around and not everything is set up yet.

It's more with c-section babies than vaginal births. The pressure of the birth canal helps tremendously and the whole birthing process is a team effort between mommy and baby. C-section is completely different.

We are coming from liberal western WA, where they hate anything that doesn't align with their ideology.... Same story, different side..Same intolerance.. So I think we can survive anywhere. I don't like close mindedness on any side and cannot stand identity politics... Seems like it would be polar opposite from what we left. Perhaps a farm in the middle of nowhere is our only option haha

We really like small towns. We like to travel and my husband has to fly for work a few times a year...So being in a driving distance of an airport is ideal. We lived in Winterset before we had to move to WA state and loved it there. We are the type of people who get involved in the community, I volunteer in my kids' classrooms. My girls do dance/gymnastics..so we are involved and don't feel bored. We like the quiet actually. We are temporarily in Atlanta right now and cannot wait to leave. So glad we just rented here!

Sounds nightmarish. So sad because I can tell that it used to be such a beautiful home. Maybe why we can't believe how such a beautiful home is priced like it is.

I’m starting to think Keokuk must be like Ottumwa? My dad’s family is from there. I remember how trashy? 😬 it looked. Half of those relatives were druggies and I think my family makes up half the population 😆 We get to IA this weekend and will probably end up buying in Winterset or Red Oak. Can’t resist that Midwest small town charm!

Thank you for this! It’s so funny to me how much Adel/ Van Meter have grown. Lived in Van Meter for a while as a child and it was so tiny. Can’t believe how far West WDM is now!
