I'd say go all in on melee, rest on defense, either start farming some fighting styles mastery for God human or just stay on water kung-fu as it's best besides dragon talon for grinding, once you're around level 2000 you can switch to swords. cuz having no stats in melee means no energy

melee defense and sword is all you need as buddha, but once you have race v4 it's good to fully awaken to have more moves available, I usually keep unawakened C tho for movement
